Justinel> First of October, mate, not September - as for accomodation, I couldn't tell you, tbh - some research would have to be done. I know there are a number of hotels close to the train station, and the tram drops you off at the MEadowhall Interchange - about 5 minutes walk down the road from the SGC.

PitFiend> Yup, that's Bill alright. Currently seems to be using OGBM as an opponent to Eldar to teach someone how to play.....

I've played that OGBM army with my IG. Ouch. Not pretty. The point where my Reaver fluked a close combat win against a Gargant was about the only thing that went right in the whole game...

Thanks Dysartes, well that certainly makes it more of a possiblity...that is if you'll have me, I am after all a complete Newbie as regards actual playing. Cheers, will do the necessary research as dates become more settled (mine rather that the events I mean)

Justinel, everyone was new once - I can't see any problem with having a mix of levels of ability in there, tbh.

Though I'd recommend you field one of the published armies over a Vault force :)

If it happens, I'll have the camera primed and ready (nothing fancy, but i get some good snaps).

And i might have even figured out taking decent in-game shots by October...

Assuming this goes ahead, I'll have my camera there, and will probably try to get some sort of report generated for Dysartes.com

CS, any problems with this format, and if not, shall I run with it?

No problems with this at all. There is really just the academic point of the 'EpiComms' part, but that doesnt really matter either way as long as Epic is played and enjoyed. (I am tempted just to make Dysartes the official EpiComms Event Manager... )

Personally, it looks like the interest is there to go ahead with this and that the numbers would make it worth while doing. If there is a second set of pictures/report floating around then I would love to host a review of the day.

I have it marked in my diary, but I really dont know if I can make it as this is going to be a very busy time of the year for me. If I can, I may be able to offer a car ride to anyone getting there from the London area (if they can find their way to me).

Nice one - I'll get in touch with the manager and check how far ahead he'll need to know numbers wrt food.

Out of interest, how many people think they'll be coming to this event?

Its the first I've heard of it, but it definitely sounds like something worth finding time for!

I'm totally out of practice as far as the rules go - have hardly played since it was officially released! - but if you're taking born-again-NooBs then put me down as a possibility. With my recent return to poor health, I wont make a firm commitment just yet, but if at all possible, this paint slinger will head north October 1st!

Please keep me posted.

I dont think that I can commit to this yet... I think that I will do my best to be there, but cant be sure. If I ca make it, and there is a place, then I will take it. If there is no place, then I will try to be there as a spectator.

If I cant be there, I will be looking forward to a report!

This is a problem. Same date. Also playing Epic. In Nottingham. The likes of Billthebobder and Mott for two (i saw em on sunday) will be at this rather than Sheffield.

Me, i'd like to push for a reschedule if possible. Just not the week after, as that's Macclesfield Manouvres, which is my old club's WHFB/HOTT tournament.
