Awesome report!
It's great you tested so many different units.

The Orb was fun to play with, but didn't make its points back.
Yeah I've tried it a few times with different army compositions. Always found it works best with a hybrid list approach (portal list vs Non portal list). While its doesn't do generally its points worth in damage it is an incredible support unit being a good blitz guard and a good BTS choice. When combined with a few reserve units coming in via portal whether by Monolith or Night scythe its very effective as you have options to counter a castle strategy, drop armies and swarm armies. Since your infantry formations no longer phase out its also acts as a good retreat for formations to fall back to rally/regenerate and then a good launching point for them to jump back into the thick of it.

The Deathmarks didn't do much and then broke not to rally, so didn't show much of what they can do.
I've found that they are extremely specialized and really only excel at remaining in reserve until you can teleport them onto a favourable position to execute a SC. They work quite psychologically and if used right they can set you up to consume your opponents first activation when you lose the initiative roll on a critical turn.

Warriors with Arks tried to act as a main stay but with 5+ saves were prone to dying.
True but with one rally activation they are almost guaranteed to regenerate all the lost warriors. They aren't the most powerful in an Assault and certainly not the best at ranged but they are a serious pain to dislodge from an objective.

Sentry Pylons were ok
Yeah, I wanted them to be a reasonable deterrent to fliers but not as powerful as a pylon. The idea is to open up the War Engine section and reduce the dependence on the pylons. They can by quite a nuance also with their range making them good at sniping AT units and getting BMs on stuff to prime assaults.

Fighters - Doom Scythes work better in threes rather than pairs & Night Scythes are a good Fighter option.
I Agree

The list still feels that it needs to go teleporting with Monoliths to bring on forces so I'll go back to trying this again.
Yeah, I agree with this also to a degree. I've found when trying playing the Sautekh necrons like the original Necron list isn't as effective as the original list for that strategy (no Phase out and weaker armour). Also when trying using no portals they can still win but its quite a challenge (though with the Iudicium Maniple you can make a decent armour list). The way myself (and previous AC's kudos to Borka and Ulrik) have been trying to develop it is so that nothing in the list is very powerful by itself but with the right combintations of formations are put together the strength really shows. It's in my opinion the most versitlie list out of any as it gives you options for dealing with any situation reasonably well if played properly. When I started playing it I lost often but a few more games and some creative list building and its turned out to be quite potent.
Just finishing up a Necron Tank heavy list that I hope to field in the near future that I have high hopes for. Battle reports to come.
