Interesting game! The Storm Serpent armour saves must have been fantastic to survive that sustained fire.

Great to see the Warlock put through its paces with double/triple retained activations, and getting stuck right in during the assaults. I was surprised to see the Wraithblade/Wraithlord formation used, but it did very well when able to pick its fights - it's almost worth treating the Storm Serpents as completely disposable one-shot items if you can march them into prime positions (assault-focused heavy infantry hitting artillery...).

Thanks for the report and a legal list!

About the Wraithblades with Wraithlords combo I think that Morsla meant it was rare to see an all out CC unit.

And that must have been one lucky Stormserpent! First the shooting and then the engagement with the Baneblades. It must have made about 10 saves in total!? :)

Just to be curious, the Stormtroopers and Valkyries are scouts. It doesn't look like you played it that way. Wraithguards looks to be very close after winning against the Mech co. and when assaulting them with the Wraithblades you seems to be ignoring the Valkyries ZoC...

I also noticed that you landed in the woods with both the Waveserpents and the Stormserpent. Why take the risk of loosing one or two?

A very aggressive use of the Warlock. Good job!

Do you really think the 1:2 ratio kills the theme? With at last 3 units its around 1000 points at least and then add another 650-1000 for titans and airplanes this gives you very little room for living units units. Usually people take a falcon unit or two to get AA so that usually leaves a couple of scout units to be living :)

Thanks for the answers. Still a little bit confused but it might be me not fully understanding what you mean. No need to add notes etc but I don't know if we talk about the same thing.
Regarding scout and skimmers in woods:
The Waveserpent formation was standing in the middle of the same wood just before and it looks like it did the follow up move to move outside and too close to the Scouts. Didn't mean to put you in a bad situation just wanted to know if you had forgot about the ability. Also if you stayed in the wood after the assault you had to make another dangerous terrain check. So that would have been 6 dice and a statistical crashed Waveserpent :)
In the following assault on the same Stormtroopers it also looks as if you moved past the skimmers, thus totally ignoring their ZoC. Normally they would have soaked a couple of Wraithswords and forced FF. Also on another picture one Wraithlord also seems to be standing very close to the scouts before the actual assault thus my curiosity if you played with them being scouts... No biggie, I forget things all the time...
And the other thing that I do not understand is why you hid the Stormserpent (and waveserpents) in the woods. Clearly your opponent did not see it as a big threat if he was going to hunt it down with the artillery instead of the Shadowswords and the -1 cover save compared to the 1/6 risk of hitting a tree is not something that I usually take. There are always times when you take risks but I did not see why you took theme in this battle...
I also noticed that you did not make use of the cover save that the Wraithlords give their smaller friends so I just thought that you played a little bit strange and wanted to know why :)

And I made up the "killing" stuff but when you wrote that it dampens the theme I thought you were against it...

Until next time :)

Ok but I still do not get it :)
For example :

The SS is a skimmer so it only has to roll for dangourous terreain when it ends its movement in the woods. A skimmer kan also always force a FF when in close combat so instead of moving forward a little bit further and not having to roll for damage you basically gives the opponent a free 1/6 chance to hurt you...
