Thanks as always for the report. It also makes for an interesting comparison with the earlier game; apparently neither side was able to win outright in either game, and the outcome seems to have hinged on the strategy role and the subsequent events in turn #2. Given that the players also swapped sides, this also suggests that the two sides, and hence the lists, were reasonably balanced.

I have to disagree with your last sentence Ginger, on many levels. First, the two games were played against different opponents. Secondly, in the first game the SL had 2500 points vs 3000 BT before it could make it's first move, one arty unit lost and the other out of action for the game. 3 moves/shots before your opponent is a pretty stiff edge IMHO.
Greg didn't even use the Warlock Titan or portals, major weapons in the BT arsenal, so IMHO I'd say the armies for this game were close, but the overall BT list is far stronger than the SL.
Or maybe Greg is just a much better player than Trent or I. ;D

Ah my mistake. But Greg did take different sides, so fought fought with and against the list, right?
In my experience it is quite usual for one side to get an early advantage like this. However it is often the 2nd turn Strategy roll which is more critical, together with how each side prepares for this.
