Hey guys!
I’ve not longed joined the forum, and other than saying hello I’ve not had much to contribute. Well, I thought I would change that by posting my first battle report!
This game was between myself and my friend (on these forums as The_Unpronouncable), and as we’re both a little out of practice we thought we would have some fun…so out rolled 4000 points of Titan Legions vs his newly converted Ork Gargant Bigmob. If you’ve not seen them yet I seriously recommend checking them out:

That’s the lists. Myself on the side of the Imperium vs my friends Orks. I’ve always hated Orks! Haha
To make things a bit easier, I built my list out of the what titans we had available and to keep things WYSIWYG. We also agreed not to use the objectives and just have a straight up gun fight.
Now for the apology. I didn’t get round to taking any notes (due to enjoying the game so much) so as a battle report this will be missing plenty of details. Instead there are plenty of pictures and I’ll write about what I can remember! Here goes!
Table and Setup:

Imperial Lines:

Ork Lines:
First Turn:So, nothing overly exciting happens this turn. Mostly moving units forward and taking pot shots between units that can see. As the Imperial player I decided I needed to start stripping powerfields as soon as I could.
I had moved my lone Warhound up to nearly halfway across the battlefield, with the intention of starting to put some blast markers out there and to create a “sausage”. Suffice to say by the end of the first turn, he was the first casualty!
The_Unpronouncable started moving forwards with his Gargants, with the Great Gargant heading towards the ruins on my middle left flank. The Stompa unit on the far left hugged cover as much as they could and started getting into position.
All in all this turn involved minimal damage, but the blast markers were flying and I had managed to strip the Gargant in the centre of most of its Powerfields…ready for next turn!
Something to note….not a single Volcano Cannon managed to hit! Testament to my dice rolls. Of which my bad luck is quite legendary!

Great Gargant trying to “hide”:
Second Turn:So, second turn and things start getting a little more interesting. I win the roll for Initiative…and have a plan (partly helped along by my opponent!). First up I decide to finish off the powerfields on the central gargant. I then retain and bring in my Pin Point Orbital Bombartment on him….one moment there is a huge walking Ork marching towards me, the next there’s a searing light and the Gargant is now a crater! Revenge for the loss of my sole Warhound!
The Orks are starting to get closer now, which worries me. The Great Gargant is looking quite scary and has only lost about half his shields. I’m quite lucky though. Due to my opponent deciding to make Double actions (to help with his activation rolls) meant that he rarely managed to hit. Generally this turn I lose Voids and take Blast Markers while once again laying on the fire. This turn I concentrate as much fire as I can on the Great Gargant as I know it needs to come down before he reaches my lines! This not only strips his fields, but I get some good hits against him too!
This turn the Orks advance further up. The Gargant with the twin Lobbas get ups close and throws everything it can at my Reavers on the left flank. I’m pretty sure all it did was take down voids and failed to get any damage across.
Empty Space after Orbital Bombardment:

Great Gargant looking even scarier now!:
Third and Final Turn:So, the last turn went quite well for the Imperials by managing to completely destroy one Gargant and stripping most of the Fields off the Great Gargant as well as casusing damage! Unfortunately this meant I had ignored the other Gargants and the Stompas…and ignoring those Stompas was about to cost me!
This turn I decide I had to drop the Great Gargant. I can’t remember exactly which order things came here, but I managed to cause more damage, leaving him on about 2-3 DC, which in turn broke him so he retreated back to the safety of the ruins. I ended up finishing him off and the beast was gone! However, had this not been the last turn (due to the lateness of the hour) I felt like it might of cost me later as the Stompas now had their fun.
The Stompa unit on my middle right flank Engaged the Warhounds. They promptly killed off one, while sending the other packing. The Warhounds did take a Stompa down in return, but this gave me a taste of what the small buggers were capable of in combat…and I had seriously underestimated them! The Supa Stompa himself being the biggest threat due to his TK Combat Weapon. Something I wasn't aware of! There was another unit sneaking around the left flank too!
“Enemy engine target lock”:

Stompas move up after Engaging the Warhounds:

“Engine Kill”:

So, there you have it. The Titan Legions managed to hold off the Gargant Bigmob.
As I have said, during the write up, I think if we had continued for another turn I think the tables may have shifted due to the Orks now getting into range of Engaging. Those Supa Stompas can seriously pack a punch!
I’d also put a fair amount of firepower into the Great Gargant. But can you blame me….have you seen it!! This meant I had pretty much ignored two Gargants that next turn might have started causing me real problems.
In the end though it was a great game and was great to be playing Epic again. I’m sure The_Unpronouncable will want a re-match in the future!
Oh, and here’s what happens when I need to hit on a 3+:
