Here is my part in helping to Keep Epic Alive! My goal is to make high quality, all-painted battle reports that will get people EXCITED about the game! Please provide C&C. I want to continually improve these. This is just the first one, and it was our first time using both armies!

Nicely done! Looks sufficiently impressive I'd say.
The one thing I would prioritize is more and better terrain. To me terrain is as important as minis to convey a sense of shock and awe. Why not showcase the new forum ware buildings as they become available?

very enjoyable battle report - maybe tweak the lighting on the pics as seem a little over-exposed but i did like the story-telling element to the battle report :)

also very pretty armies :)

Thanks for the compliments!

Agreed about the terrain. We are light on terrain here in L.A. I'll have to organize a terrain making day or something like that to bring us up to speed.

Agreed about the over exposure. The lighting was poor at his place, and I had to crank the brightness on the pictures in editing software just to be able to see anything. The result is what you see. I do own some lighting rigs. Maybe I could set them up for the next game.

Good work with this, easy to read and follow and as you were both new to your respective forces it really adds to the sense of discovery that new players would hopefully feel!

I like this a lot, really like the narrative style, you definitely need to get the terrain up to the same standard as the armies though, but you know that! You seem to have a pretty dedicated crew over in LA so I bet you'll get that sorted pretty quick!

Power point! :) All told, though, I used three programs to edit the pics. Picasa, PowerPoint, and Paintbrush. Picasa for lighting, contrasting, color correction. Powerpoint for the arrows. And Paintbrush for text. (I simply find Paintbrush easier to use for text than PowerPoint)

Nice report. I thought the over exposure was deliberate to simulate a scorching hot desert ! :-) The minis looked fine.

But yes, as a imperial guard player I would love that little terrain - if playing eldar I'd be terrified ! :-) One thing I have seen people do is count hills as cover when terrain is limited (as well as blocking los) representing it being rough and craggy ground as well as high.
