Setup:

I set up my Howitzers and Rough riders as the blitzguard, then evenly spread the knights out over the whole deployment zone. Since my opponent had loooots of artillery i decided to keep my knights apart alot.

My opponent spread out his forces pretty even in his deployment zone and kept 2 guardian formations in the webway.

My thoughts:

Well, that was a massacre. My opponent got severly diceraped. I rolled great and he rolled really, really bad.
He was also overly aggresive and thinned out his battle line too much i think.

The Lancers are awesome! Am I playing them right assuming they have 1FS attack 1 FS MW attack and then 2 more "Normal attacks" in FF??? Thats crazy good!! A formation of 5 Lancers that engages an enemy formation dishes out 5 FS MW attacks, 5 FS attacks and then 10 atatcks more!
Isn't that a little too much? I could see the non-MW FS atatck get removed. They would still be good.

I really enjoyed this build because it let me be very aggresive and field lots of knights! No complaints or strong arguments for/against the other units.

As always this list is really fun to play!

That's how the Lancers are currently stated, yes.

What your opponent's thoughts on the Lancers and Errants?

Wow, that was lopsided. Your opponent's over-aggressive play and poor rolling didn't help.

He didn't think anything specisl about the Errants. They didn't do much in tjus battle.

He thought it was weird that the lancers had 2 different lance attacks as stats but only 1 lance weapon on the model.

Don't forget that they only get the extra attacks when they attack. If their opponents know this, they can adopt strategies like using cheaper formations to screen etc. The same goes for the knight shield; it comes with built in weaknesses.

That said, DC2 is a big boost (there are pros and cons to this - so "the jury is still out") making all the knight formations *very* powerfull even when supporting. IMO 90 points per unit is probably a bit light when you consider that Terminators are 85 and are not a patch on these monsters . . . .

It would be interesting to set up a refight, not least to see how the two armies behave when using better tactics against the knights, avoiding intermingling(!!) and hopefully with better dice.
