Enjoyed reading this.
Sorry I can't give a better comment, I'm new to Epic (~2 yrs)
Thanks; I heven't played that much longer myself. My return to 6mm gaming and Epic can in fact be dated very precisely, to
September 25., 2010.

Cool.
Indeed it was. It definitely felt like defense of a high-tech site.

I'm curious about the Forge Knight engagement. I didn't see you mention any robots being involved until the combat resolution but your rule gives them fearless which should prevent casualties.
There were no robots in the Forge Knight engagement? The Forge Knights aren't
Robots, just piloted heavy-duty construction mechanicals with ad-hoc weaponry.
My mistake with the Forge Knights was to let the IG dictate the engagement; They are not very impressive in FF range.

Were you playing with the Crusaders at 150 or 200? Especially given your results, I think 150 is a bit more appropriate for them. Better than sentinels but die just as easily which means they need support. If they could run without support a higher cost would be warranted.
They were at 200 points in this list. In this list, they are faster than Sentinels,
Fearless, and packs a respectable Shooting and CC punch too. 200 may be a tad overpriced, but in the list (which has very few other cheap, fast formations), they seem worth it.
The theme here is a bit the opposite of (say) Eldar specialization; Everything is a little bit useful for mutiple purposes, instead of being great at a single thing.
