G'day,
Here's a few photos from our recent game.
Duro brought the Raptors (NetEA MArines) along and I decided to keep things simple (I'd been in hospital for a couple of days just before the game) and took a titan battle group.
Duro had 10 activations to my 6. The fortunate thing for me was that 6 of Duro's formations started off table. The bad thing for me was that 3 of those formations were Terminators...
Deployment.

Duro picked corner deployment and off we went.
I tried something different and only protected my Quake Cannon artillery Reaver with the scout screen. Both my other Reavers had Titan Killing close combat weapons and I wondered if the Marines would go for them with the Terminators considering it could turn into a 1 way trip.
It looked like we were going to find out how tough Reaver Titans and terminators are...

The outcome of the fight was that I couldn't roll decent dice to save a Reaver titan's life!

Duro managed to wipe out one of the Reavers and slightly damage the remaining one. Note to Steve - put the scout screen around all the titans next time

.
With some good fortune, I actually managed to win the engagement and sent the remaining 8 Terminator stands scurrying away to cover.
The Quake Cannoned Reaver hit the Marine's Supreme Commander Tactical formation and took a big chunk out of it.
Next a Thunderhawk full of Devestators and Assault Maines swooped down and attacked the Reaver that survived the Terminators. This fight went for 2 turns but the war Engine proved quite resilient and destroyed all the attackers for the loss of only 1 DC.
Marine formations began moving across the board whilst staying in as much cover as possible.
The Forge Knights doubled forward but were to far away to hit anything useful. The battle-scarred Reaver moved in behind them and fired at the Terminators with a Plasma Destructor - no damge

.

At the end of the 1st turn, all the Marine formations rallied - D'oh!
The Marines set about trying to destroy the Forge Knights and Reaver. The Knights were unfortunate and failed their activation roll. They cleared their blast markers and awaiting the Terminator assault.
As the dust cleared, 4 of the Knights had been destroyed and the 2 remaining engines were broken (advancing to the safer areas on the Marines side of the board).
The Reaver failed to activate and moved into a better position.

The Quake cannon Reaver hit some of the Terminators and the Land Speeder formation. No damge to the Terminators but wiped out the Speeders.
The Marine Land raiders doubled forward and lit up the Reaver with their Twin Las cannons. No damege to the war machine. This Reaver was taking quite a beating whist the Quake Cannon Reaver still hadn't taken a scratch!
At the end of the 2nd turn, The Marines rallied everything again - double d'oh!
The 3rd turn saw the war torn Reaver destroying the Land Raiders in a close combat engegment. The Terminators finally brought down the pesky Reaver but were out of position to win the game. The Forge Knights and Sentinels were broken and hiding. If Duro could stretch out the remains of his Suprmeme Commander Tactical formation to claim the 3 objectives on his side of the board, he wins.
Cue my Thunderbolts dive bomming the Tacticals. I only managed to kill one of the Marine stands but that was enough. They now couldn't claim the objectives and win the game.
Moving onto the 4th turn, the score was 1 Victory Goal each (we both had Break Their Spirit). My Knights and Sentinels rallied to make it interesting.
At this point, the game came down to Duro needing to roll a 2+ to activate his Terminators (with a re-roll aswell) to push me off an objective and claim Take and Hold to win the game.
Yup, you guessed it. The dreaded snake eyes came up and I was able to hold onto the objective and keep the game at 1 all.
It went to points and I actually eneded up a couple of hundred points ahead
Crazy game but GREAT fun.
We're building up our Epic games as we head towards our campaign starting on June 10th and the tournament on July 8th.
