This one went to points in the 4th turn, with Necrons winning out I believe, once I get the pictures posted I'll get the numbers. I used the same BTS special rule changes from this battle.

Start of Game


The Monolith Phalanx teleports in.


The Monoliths sustains and take out two gaunts (the Lictors aren't actually there ).


A Phalanx attempts to engage but fails and comes on with a blast marker. Swarm 7 marshals away and spawns back a gaunt.


The Pylon goes on overwatch.


Swarm 6 marches to the rubble.


The Destroyers come out of a portal and lay a BM on Swarm 6.


The Genestealers march to within engage range.


A maniple doubles.


Swarm 5 marches up, just shy of 30cm from the portal.


The Genestealers do the same.


The harridan doubles and lays a BM.


Swarms 1, 2 and three march up the left flank.


Swarm 4 goes on overwatch.


The Lictors teleport in.


The Flayed ones and another Maniple teleport in with one BM each.

Turn 2


Maniple 1 doubles back and breaks the Lictors with a crossfire.


The Genestealers engage the Phalanx on the back right corner.


They are wiped out after some horrible rolling.


Swarm 6 attempts to engage and fails, they move.


Maniple 2 doubles and hacksdown a Lictor.


Swarm 6 engages the Phalanx.


They break and fall back.


The Phalanx marshalls.


The Genestealers double to just outside 30cm of the portal.


The Phalanx doubles and shoots at the broken warriors.


Swarm 4 doubles to just outside of 30cm of the Phalanx.


A Warrior Phalanx engages Swarm 6.


Two Gaunts go down.


Somehow, the Tyranids win and the Warriors retreat back through another portal.


Swarm 3 marches over to the right flank.


Another Warrior Phalanx engages the broken Warriors out of the last portal.


The Warriors are wiped out.


The Harridan doubles on the flayed ones and lays a BM.


The Flayed ones engage the Lictors.


The Lictors are wiped out for no losses.


Swarm 2 marches to just outside of the 30cm of the portal.


The Pylon goes on overwatch.


Swarm 3 falls back to guard a Take and Hold.


Swarm 1 doubles on the Flayed ones and lays a BM.


The Nightlord appears.

The Destroyers double on Swarm 1 and lay a BM.


Swarm 6 engages in CC before its engaged.


The Swarm is wiped out and the Warriors retreat.


The Monolith Maniple sustains on the Harridan, gets one hit and crits. Her Gargoyles break.


Swarm 5 advances and lays a BM on the Flayed Ones.


Swarm 1 attempts to engage the inermingled formations but fails and regroups.


A Phalanx marshals out of a portal.


Swarm 4 engages the intermingled formations.


After three rounds of combat the Tyranids loose and break, but one Phalanx is broken.


The Genestealers engage the Pylon and destroy it.


The Monolith maniple engages and wipes out the stealers (I think I forgot to take 4+ cover saves here).


Swarm 2 doubles to get Blitz and T&H but the Flayed Ones come out the portal to deny them.


Swarm 1 sets up an assault on the Nightbringer.


The Nightbringer, being the living god that he is, hides behind a building.

Turn 4


Swarm 4 marshals to be as annoying as possible.


Swarm 2 marshals to be as annoying as possible.


A Phalanx doubles on Swarm 4 and lays a BM.


The Monoliths advances and lay a BM.


Swarm 5 engages the Phalanx.


After three rounds there's not much left.


But the bugs (two Termagants) emerge victorious and claim BTS!


Another Phalanx engages Swarm 1.


Round two.


The Necrons break and fall back.


Swarm 1 marshals to be as annoying as possible.


The Nightbringer advances on Swarm 4 and takes out a Warrior.


Swarm 3 doubles up to contest another objective and be as annoying as possible.


The Monolith maniple doubles of Swarm 1, which is later engaged by the flayed ones I believe and breaks, loosing all its synapse.

Alright, assuming Matt was using his tourney list which I have, it was a 2150 to 1550 victory for the Necrons in the fourth turn.

None of the Warrior Phalanxes, the Pylon or the Flayed ones were on board. And Matt managed to kill all the Synapse in my BTS on his last activations. This didn't get him BTS but did get him 450 tiebreak points as per the rules we're trying out.

One VERY bloody game. Well I guess technically it was a very oily/ichory game.

The points earned in this game were HUGE and stand in stark contrast to the game we played (Biel-tan vs. Bugz, 575 to 300).

That game only went to turn 3 though Mosc, I'm sure we would have seen a few more points after another turn.

@Ares - 'Nids had to play this real cautious with the FF abilities of the Necrons. I spent most of the game making sure my swarms were outside of 30cm of a portal and very close together. After seeing them without the 1/2 gaunts rule I think the list is workable without it, the same can be said with spawning losses only. The initiative 1+ and Hive Mind Rule don't seem to be game breaking but I still want to test them more.

do you think Matt would have been better to concentrate his forces or do you think you would have been able to swamp him either way?

I thought the Warrior Phalanxes were pretty concentrated, they all came out of the Monolith Phalanx and stayed pretty close to it. My CC assaults at the beginning of the second turn were repulsed. It wasn't till the 3rd/4th turn that I won assaults. The 3/4 round one for his BTS was the one that made it close.
