End Turn 1

In an attempt to lure in some marines and make it look like an unstoppable wall of metal was coming toward the marine half the warlord moved forward turn 1.

A Warhound got broken, using up the plasma from an enemy warhound, but rallied.

End Turn 2

In return the marines diverted a thunderhawk to the rear (a turn too early I think) to deploy scouts to try and draw stuff off, ironically something I was hoping for as I wanted the thunderhawks on the ground.

Also this turn the two single warhounds were broken, still before they had fired at all. However one ran back to the thunderhawk so I could get a cheap broken kill on the thing with the warlord and pack.

Having to pull back the pack was annoying and I think sealed the draw.

At the end of the turn one warhound rallied and the other one never would.

End turn 3

Pretty much the entire available marine army set up and conducted the assault on the Reaver, in the process losing three terminators and taking some damage on the thunderhawk. It was still a close run thing, with only the chaplains invulnerable save winning it for the marines.

The Reaver would never rally, but the other Reaver got another cheesy broken kill on the thunderhawk.

The pack vs a shieldless warhound in the assault was somewhat comical. Despite killing it in one salvo it got 3 hits back, stripping the shields and criticaling the warhound who went straight into the warhound next to it. A rare result from a warhound critical.

End turn 4

The marine army had finally shown itself and now the Titans piled in, not even a cunning crossfire could save them. This pretty much sealed the victory margin, with the pack whose job it would have been to get the blitz left too far out by the failure of the warlord to deal with the thunderhawk turn 2, just killing stuff instead.

Basically we danced a bit, CW danced infinatively more than I did with the marines and though it meant fewer casualties it put him in a worse position for a potential turn 5.
At some point the marines had to bring the Titans to battle and he was lucky I didn't get to activate 1/3 of my force for turns 2,3 and 4 as the 1+ initiative Titans couldn't rally.

The CCW Warlord has I think nothing to fear bar repeated lemming air assaults. 8 2+ attacks and 3 2+ TK attacks sees to that.

In both cases it was a winning draw, but more importantly in both cases it was for the marines to lose rather than Titans to win (and I think we showed Doug was a better player as he actually came close to winning turn 4 bar a couple of my formations rallying in his half of the board.
