Trying to get some playtesting of various "EPIC: Total War" scenarios in and when one of the local Alaitoc players wanted a game I suggested we randomize a scenario.

He agreed, rolled a "three", and we got Last Stand... nice!

Turn 1

No teleports.

Strategy Roll: Alaitoc

The Night Spinners start things off by sustaining fire on the Gunzmob, taking out 3 Big Gunz and putting down 4 Blast markers.

Ranger Warhost 1 tries to advance… can’t get moving, and then even the Autarch fails to motivate them, so they regroup, clearing their single Blast marker. (Oh man, it gets worse…)

Blitz Brigade 1 strikes out at the encircling Eldar by doubling on Aspect Warhost 1… and does some major damage, taking out 1 Swooping Hawk and *3* Warp Spiders, including the Autarch himself!  *OUCH!*

The Kult of Speed also doubles, attacking Windrider Troupe 1 and BBQs 1 Jetbike.

Swords of Vaul 1 advances in place to pop-up and hit the Supa-Stompa, taking down its… rolls a die… 3 Power fields.

Swords of Vaul 2 tries to do the same, but the death of the Autarch has shaken them so they hold and regroup, settling their nerves.

The Stormboyz double to fire on the Guardian Warhost, placing a Blast marker.

The Guardians look to engage them… but are feeling sad, so they hold and back off. (That’s three failed activations and one dead supreme commander… and the turn is barely half over…)

The Big Warband doubles out of the ruined Cathedral to make fifteen attacks on Swords of Vaul 1… two attacks hit… and two saves are failed taking out 2 Fire Prisms!

Ranger Warhost 2 doubles along the edge of the battlefield to fire on the Blitz Brigade taking out 1 Flakwagon and one of the Soopagunwagons!  DANGIT!

Despite taking a heavy pounding, the Gunzmob decides to stay on overwatch.

Windrider 1 fires on the Kult of Speed placing 1 Blast marker and then moves away with an advance.

Itching for a fight, but seeing nothing nearby to stomp, the Stompamob also stays on overwatch.

Windrinder 2 advances to fire on the Big Warband, scything down 1 Boyz unit.

Aspect Warhost 2 marches into the woods close to the enemy…


End of Turn

The Gunzmob fails to rally and even the Warboss can't straighten them out!

Turn 2

Here comes the Avatar!



Strategy Roll: And here comes the… OOOOOOORKS!

The Kult of Speed engages their engines to engage Windrinder 1.  The Orks lose one Skorcha, one Warbikes, and one Warbuggy.  The Eldar… lose everything, wiped out!



The Blitz Brigade then doubles around to catch the Guardian Warhost and the Avatar in a crossfire, strewing Blast markers about and killing two Heavy Weapon Platforms.



Boiling with rage, the Avatar takes the Guardians in a combined assault against the Stormboys.  The God of War barges into all the Deth Koptas and one Stormboy while Wraithguard and Guardians move up.  



The Avatar suffers 1DC damage and support fire from the Blitz Brigade takes out two Guardians, but the Orks are completely crushed… no survivors.



Swords of Vaul 1 then tries to advance, but they are still a bit befuddled and only move laterally.

Covered in sticky Blast markers, the Gunzmob doubles… and is able to squeeze off a single shot at the Nightspinners… which takes one out, breaking the Eldar artillery!

Inspired, the Warband doubles on Windriders 2 and drops a Vyper.

Swords of Vaul 2 advances, but stays in place, to pop-up and fire on the Supa-Stompa… they score *four* lance hits… all of which are saved!  (Oooo… my opponent did not like that!)

Aspect Warhost 2 then engages the Big Gunz… and shreds them all.  The Eldar then jump into cover.

The Stompamob drops overwatch and doubles, sending the Supa-Stompa out to hit Ranger Warhost 2 at extreme range… Two Falcons are trashed and 4 Blast markers placed!  Gotta love 6BP!

Ranger Warhost 1 thinks about engaging the Blitz Brigade… but doesn’t think it can trust its friends to support so just shoots with crossfire, taking out 1 Gun Wagon.

A bit battered, but still in the fight, Windrider Warhost 2 doubles across the board to fire on the Blitz Brigade, doing no damage, but breaking them none-the-less.

Ranger Warhost 2 tries to marshal… but fails, putting them 1 Blast marker from breaking… they regroup… and only remove 2 Blast markers, keeping 3!

The two survivors of Aspect Warhost 1 march back to screen the broken Night Spinners…


End of Turn

The Spinners fails to rally!

All surviving Ork formations rally!

Swords of Vaul 1 buggers it up yet again and fails to advance, only moving into a new position. (Poor Eldar…)

The Stompamob gets the order to sustain fire… but needs the Warboss to tell them, yes, he’s serious, and the Supa-Stompa proceeds to slam Ranger Warhost 2, baking 1 Falcon and 3 Rangers, and breaking the formation.

The Blitz Brigade then doubles back to fire on Aspect Warhost 2… placing a Blast marker.

Ranger Warhost 1 doubles to fire on the Warboss’s Warband and kills 1 Grot and 2 Boyz.

The Kult of Speed doubles to catch Aspect Warhost 2 in a crossfire… and places another Blast marker.



Swords of Vaul 2 advance to pop-up an fire on the Warband as well, talking out 1 Grot and 1 Boy.

Aspect Warhost 2 then jumps forward to engage the Blitz Brigade, suffer no casualties and leave only the last Soopagunwagon left to fall back.  



The Eldar jump forward, leaving the Orks behind.



The Warband doubles back to help the Stompas secure Ork Objective 2 and fire on Ranger Warhost 1, placing a Blast marker.

The Guardians double forward to put a Blast marker on the Stompas…

And then Windriders 2 moves forward to clip the intermingled Stompamob and Warband, with lotsa support.



The Orks lose 3 Boyz and a Kommando… the Eldar lose nothing… and merely win by “1â€Â

Strategy Roll: Alaitoc

The Night Spinners get back at it and sustain fire on the Stompamob, doing 1DC to the Supa-Stompa and eliminating all the Stompas via Blast markers.

Windriders 2 race forward to engage the one tank of the Blitz Brigade, lose a Jetbike to enemy fire and eliminate the Orks, putting a Blast marker on the nearby Warband.



Aspect Troupe 2 then gets ready to engage… and decides not to, cuz the boss isn’t around to tell them what to do… looks like they’ve been exposed to a little too much “WAAAGH!â€Â
