Why do you say that?  

On the face of it, the Steel Legion list could be used to make a very similar Guard army to the Minervan one presented here; certainly there are units in the Minervan army that aren't in the Steel Legion list, but they aren't a majority in this battle.

Extremely crappy rolls on my side, rallies failed, half of the activations were holds and handful of succesful saves on whole game. :(

Some comments on minervans.
-Hydras are devil's machines. :p  They rock everytime.
-stormblade makes baneblade quite useless, because they fill about same role on the list and stormblade makes it better.
-Russes are quite cheap on Steel legion list already, almost no point of decreasing a discounted price.
-SHT:s are extremely cool. :) But still there is not too much difference compared to original IG list to give it unique feeling.

@Hena: Cheapest variant will be 10 Conqueror for 500. Fast and cheap :)

Salamander to 30 cm seems fine, why not ^^?

Semi-joking... I don't think the Minervans have lost a battle report yet!


1. Russes should be cheaper in this list than they are in Steel Legion. I know you dislike the "free" Vanquisher E&C, but still.

It's not "free"... it really is free!

And that is bad list design.

2. Stormblade is more powerful than Baneblade. The main gun is more powerful MW2+ vs AP3+/AT3 shot per turn. You could argue that the shorter range balances it together with more guns on Baneblade. But it doesn't as both tanks have the most effective range at 30cm (against AV/WEs it's actually 45cm on Stormblade). Charads suggestion was to put FF5+ on this. Could possibly work.

Will keep an eye on it... FF5+ isn't a bad suggestion.

4. The 35cm speed on Salamander is bit too much I think. It's now as fast as Valkyries and that's not right :).

They're meant to be faster than Chimeras.

A lot of things that are "meant to be faster" are the same speed in EPIC...
