Uhhhgggg we forgot to turn on the vlog (apoc just confirmed too). :{[]
I like to run a bit of statistics after because I'm a math weenie and I do like to know if the tests were off statistically (aka actual bad rolls versus bad rolls when it counted) as emotions cloud our feelings. You always remember the failed roll when it counted, but your overall tests were as expected statistically but it doesn't feel that way... ;D

It doesn't actually matter if you roll all ones versus even 1,2,3 when the test event under evaluation is a a binary thing though at 50% probability. That's not how maths work (in this type of analysis). The amount you flub the roll isn't really important here. Contrast that to say rolling in an assault where its BOTH where how much you win matters as well as winning which is binary.

It's a interesting thing if you're evaluating say the fairness of vassal random number generator. However yes, there felt to be an abnormal thing on those barrages seemed to never hit. He did seem to have a wickedly hard time during shooting from my memory as well. I'm sure that was a huge deal. It made that game not very fun for him i htink

meh...

More testing! I think Apoc and I are happy to get some more games in with this. You game?

On the numbers, you're absolutely right that cognitive bias plays a huge role in the perception of 'fairness' or probability distribution, and I certainly shouldn't comment on the fairness of the generation engine itself (unless I sit and whack 100,000 dice and crunch the values to +/- 1%). however a large number of the events that occurred weren't within the expected bounds of probability, which while perfectly expected in any dice game, does mean it's harder to draw supportable conclusions on the effectiveness of the list from this single result datum.

So, as you said, MORE TESTING!

An actual zerg list would be good to run as well (jokes about nidhumping aside) simply because hoard v we are important matchups. Plus I really should get some traction with Nids.

Well if you consider that a hydra costs 50 points, a skyray 100... What does D3 non-suppressible 5+ MW AA cost?

Bear in mind that range is a big deal for AA generally, but anything above 15 is the magic number for air assault defence. For gargants I guess the difference is the AA is not principally to protect other units.

how about replacing it with some kind of 'flakk dakka' upgrade instead? which gives d3+1 30cm AA6+ shots, comparable to the AMTL carapace multilasers?

as I've said many times so far, I'd prefer to see the feral ork version (including the MW ground shot) as well as removing flakkwagons from the list, you could balance it by having the tower take up both upgrade slots and cost 50 points, OR include it as a weapon option rather than a kustom upgrade, that way you end up degrading the firepower of the gargant to get the MW AA shots?
