Yeah, I actually had someone else point that out to me afterwards :P It's what I get for not actually checking, and just assuming!

Strategy Roll is a tie, but that counts for nothing against SR5.

Actually in the case of a tie, then the player that lost the initiative last turn gets to start in this case that would have been you. Maybe that hadn't changed a lot but I wanted to mention it for future games.

I assumed he meant that the dice rolls were equal, but after modifiers he lost.

Nope, I rolled a 5(+2) against his 2(+5), and thought the tie went to the higher Strategy Rating. Good to know I have better than a 1/12 chance of winning (a whole 1/9 after the first turn!)

Great battle report. It was great fun to read. Maybe you could use a little more terrain? Many players play with a little too few terrain pieces, and I think the board looked a little empty. There are many terrain pieces, but they are evenly spaced out, creating killing zones and firing lanes all over the board. Area terrain, like woods, makes infantry a little more durable. Also, the terrain looks set-up in three "lanes", my deployment zone, dead center, your deployment zone. Do not be afraid to break it up to create an interesting playing field.

We'd actually played with less terrain than usual to make the battle report process easier. We won't be going that route the next time. :)
