Future games will be played with the updated list - just thought I would get that out of the way

Regen was done on and off the table. At most, the necrons were rallying 2 models in the end phase.

I think at one point, matt chose to marshall and gain necrons back. This was done on the table.

Overall, it was fine. It was almost distressing seeing that the Necrons were regenerating, especially combined with their move Monoliths, Charge Phalanx and keep everything within 5cm of Monolith, and then after the combat, consolidate back into the gate. Yet this is the flavour of the list.

It was my first game against them so it should be expected that these tactics trumped me - I am not going to call foul because of a loss. Now that I know the force a little, I will be able to handle it a little more efficiently.

The one question that came up was this:

Teleporting War Engines. Do they roll 1d6 for BM or do they roll their DC in D6 for gaining BM?

1 mistake I made which may have affected the game to some degree was that I applied the "void shield" regeneration rule to rallying in the end phase (so I chose either to remove an extra BM or gain 1 model back), rather than just regrouping. I think there was only 1 occasion when I chose to remove BM instead of bringing back a stand though, as most of the warrior phalanxes still had their tomb spiders for most of the time.

I don't think I marshalled throughout the game - I was going to with one extremely battered phalanx (the 1 that got CCd by the slaughterfiend/chosen fm) in turn 2 but used them to assault the battered chosen fm hiding in the ruins instead.

Another thing - we played warriors as CC4 FF4 as per NetEA docs, instead of the CC5 FF5 of the Raiders, is this right?

I think Frogbear will be a much tougher opponent next time round, now that he has the measure of the Necron's strengths and weaknesses :)

CC5+ is the correct stat.

CC5+ FF4+?

that may have made a bit of a difference, though there was only 1 CC engagement (the warriors vs. chosen). Hmm, the perils of playing a list for the 1st time :)

CC5+ FF4+. That's what raiders has, and that's what the stats have always been. The draft netEA docs have a lot of typos like this.

1d6 per DC is the standard interpretation, though it really should be FAQed to be made clear.

The draft netEA docs have a lot of typos like this.

That's why they're drafts... and typos/corrections/mistakes should be posted there.

Thanks!
