Think more about that you purchase "energy" instead of actual Daemons. Some energy can be used for Greater Daemons some only for Lesser ones.
The alignmend of the summoners defines the "resonance" of the energy = which faction the Daemon belongs to.

Nice report. The factions rule also has me a bit concerned, leave it at Khorne/Slaanesh, and Nurgle/Tzeentch, if at all would be my preference.

But if that's the case, wouldn't it be better to just spend X on Daemon Pool, and then have you purchase as the game goes on? Spend 200 on Daemons, need the Bloodthirster, subtract 75. You could even reason that you lose 25pts for each wound whenever you return the GD. Saves the whole "I release the wounded Bloodthirster, and summon a Keeper.... why is he wounded?"

I guess I just have a disconnect from the implied reality. Simplification, resulting in the gain of some abstract clunkiness.

I completely agree with that, since this is how the factions have worked in the past, so it makes sense to leave them in this format.

I've already commented on the battle report elsewhere, so I won't repeat myself here.

Great battle report, Hena. I, too, am a bit concerned about the faction changes and the playability of LatD, but as I will have no possibility to play my army before the deadline (new job + very small child = no spare time) I can only give you encouragement for further battle reports.

Perhaps you could switch a Khorne coven/Assault Engines for an Undivided Coven+Defilers. Just a suggestion to see if it mitigates the changes somewhat and still make it possible to set up support. Maybe the towers could be switched for Firelords or Marauders as well.
