Matt it is all in the dice - Clauswitz mopped them up with few problems today (biggest problem being Clauswitz spotting I had deployed the whole AMTL army one reaver in front of the first reaver placed, not in line with it, so had a 5cm boost to everything!).
damn dice!
I get what you're saying (I think), but I'm struggling to see how Mephiston could have done much better (other than perhaps with the landa). As it was, 5 out of 7 Ork fms on the table were broken with Clausewitz' forces almost completely intact. I'm just struggling to see how to deal with AMTL.
It something of a feature of my game "style" Matt. I lean heavily towards fairly cautious play, and the Warmonger list was designed make it tough to remove any activations.
The sentinals just hid, and ran away. The Tbolts and Lysander operated away from enemy flak early (and since flak and zapps is the same formation in Orks I went after them first) and then operated within the Warmongers AA umbrella (8x AA5+). The Reavers and Warhound never strayed that far from my blitz and cover.
Then also Mephiston played his Orks in "Orky" fashion which meant taking risks (it was that or play hide and seek for most of the game).
As TRC mentioned we had a couple of games, and both occassions the AM and TL lost; though both times there was significant TK weaponry on the oppossing side, IG had Shadowswords and TRC had a Gunzmob....no really but they never missed!

(he also had a fair few zapps).
I do think the TL list is very close to being fully balanced. Having only tried AM once it's too early for me to form an opinion on that list.
