Cheap victory or not chalk one up for the Chroma. Food for thought anyway. The Drop pods are good stuff, hard to counter? Pity about the Terminators but these things happen... mostly in our games anyway.

I'm having second thoughts on using Necrons in EA. They don't seem as "hard as nails" as their fluff suggests. I think I'll stick with NetEpic with these dueds. EA Dark Eldar anyone?.. (*Groan* yet another project)

Necrons are a tough nut to crack in EA... you only saw them have a single turn of attacking in that batrep!

Damaged Necron formations can regenerate, often back to full, during the course of a game.

Yeah, maybe... I have my reservations but should really try them properly first.

Don't worry, they're tough as nails!

The new Necron list is the best list that's ever been created IMO.  It was the case before that the Necrons would just show up on the front door of your deployment line and IF you managed to survive turn one you might pull out a win.  Now the Necron player has to think, has to deploy carefully, has to set up continency plans, and has to balance his army list so that there is a good balance of unit types.  Otherwise he is screwed.  Now that doesn't mean that you shouldn't play the Necrons.  It does mean that new Necron players will be fighting their own learning curve while their opponents are simultaneously learning how to fight the Necrons.  And that is okay!   :agree:

The Plethora of Pylons idea.  No doubt it would be bad news for air units.  But Pylons don't move... EVER.  They can hold objectives but unless they are reinforced they are easily broken or destroyed.

Sorry guys, not meaning to dis' the Necron Raiders. Just not sure they would suit me. Looking at EA I realise (and I hope I'm right in saying) most armies are playable and fair but just give different styles of play. So it then becomes preference?

Don't worry, they're tough as nails!

This is good to hear. I will defer to your greater wisdom, Zombo.

Yeah, I'm getting that they are similar to German FlaK 88mm AA Guns. Good against Air craft and Tanks etc but without support easily dealt with if not easily avoided. A problem to be cleared up before an air assault.

Necron players will be fighting their own learning curve while their opponents are simultaneously learning how to fight the Necrons.  And that is okay!

I would agree that this should be the way of Epic in any form. It certainly was when I first started and I will be interested to see how I cope again with the learning curve part.

As to Plethora of Pylons has anyone tried a Extravagance of Eques? How "broken" would something like that be?

I have played several games with 3 Eques formations.  I wouldn't call it an extravagance but they were enough to crush my opponents decidedly.  At the same time those games were played with a 4.1 or 4.2 list (memory is failing at this point).  I am curious to see if an Eques driven list would be able to pull it off as the list currently is.

Yes, it would be interesting indeed if some battle mad gamer were to do a battle report with a lot of Eques... Oi! Are you listening Chroma?!.  :))

Mostly because I have so many of the bleeding things now and they are heaps easier to make than Obelisks/Monoliths/Anything-else-that-ends-in-iths.

Well, I already disabled the "Murder of Monoliths" theory way-back-when... so, I'll see what I can do with other "extreme" lists.

I'm hoping to get a game in tonight, and I told my opponent that *he* could choose to field Necrons or Tyranids... not sure what he's bringing, but I'll be using good, old Orks!

Well, my opponent brought a Bug army, so I'll be posting it in the Battle Reports section and commenting on in in the Tyranids section...

But more Necron goodness to come... we also watched a couple of eps of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and it got us psyched.  *laugh*
