I was interested in how the Ordinatus would work in the game and of course see if they were broken. We can't just look at a list and know what will work.

So on to the final activations.

The infantry company in the ruins advanced back towards the Warhounds on the Blitz, fire and kill one of the Hounds breaking the other.

The Sentinals moved onto the AMTL Blitz, AMTL holding their three objectives, but they have run out of activations.

The guard then finish off the game by doubling the remaining Vultures and firing on the Sentinels killing two and breaking them. The Regimental HQ then March to just claim the AMTL's Blitz and win the game 2-0 (Blitz & BTS)

Conclusions ( have not looked at the revised list 3.03):

This was a great game which once I saw what I was facing with the the Imperial Guard had me really worried as I almost expected to be over run in the first turn. Whilst the idea of seveal Ordinatus has a great feel to me as a power gamer, these were just too slow. However I can see them being used as Shadowsword proxies where they have the feel of being slightly more powerful than a standard Shadowsword however it does cost more so this will need watching.

Both ES & myself felt that there needs to be an infantry formation in this list which can be used to hold ground / provide inteference.

I mucked up the use of the Reaver, but the paying for Weapons was not difficult to use and I will continute to work on this.

I feel that AMTL could do with a AA formation, Hydras / Hunters or an AA option for an option for an Ordinatus?

Weapons that I would also like to see the return of are:

Scout MRLs as I have converted the models and the mobile artillery idea appeals to me rather than the static Battle titan.

Fire Control Tower - priced at the same level as the Carapace Landing Platform. This is a very powerful option (Allowing a titan to fire a weapon at a different target, but will raise the cost of the titan and cause the loss of a weapon location.

I am tempted to try an Ordinatus Minorus with Support missiles (barrage) to fire early on and then go and sit on objectives.

I think you'll like v3.03 then. One of the additions has been a formation of Skitarii in the allies section.

They take up the same slot as the Ordinatus Minoris (Allies) and Ordinatii have been limited (0-1 Ordinatus Majoris, 0-1 Ordinatus Minoris per 1000pts).

an AA option for an option for an Ordinatus?

This would be my preferred option.

Currently I am thinking that the SG Shadowsword model will make a good base model for the Ordinatus Minoris.

How about an Ordinatus Minoris with a (Perhaps enhanced) Hydra turret on top??

It's an easy conversion and it keeps with the War Engine theme.

Scout MRLs as I have converted the models and the mobile artillery idea appeals to me rather than the static Battle titan.

With the range on the Scout MRL being 2BP @ 45cm, does the 3BP @ 30cm Ignore Cover Inferno Gun shot provide a good enough counts-as to satisfy?

I was actually thinking of renaming the 'carapace landing pad' to 'fire control tower', as the current rule (Indirect fire ability) would seem to apply to the latter rather than the former.

I suspected when I statted them up that whilst the cheaper Ordinatae configurations are the immediately attractive ones, the most effective types would be those with the heaviest weapons.

I'm not sure I understand this.

Do you mean that Ordinatus Minoris should be allowed to take the Carapace Multi-Lasers upgrade?

What can I say, but brilliant.

AMTL need some infantry support.

AA on an Ordinatus will force a few interesting choices whilst planning a list.

I would like the 45cm MRLs for scout titans as this can allow me to choose not to use aircraft against baseline artillery and be able to field more ground units.

Due to the reduced range of some of cheaper weapons I can see that Ordinatus will mainly use the more expensive options, however I wanted to try as many as I could fit in this time around.

The one thing that concerns me is that ES knew that I was bringing AMTL and his list relected this, if I had just faced a pure Tournament list the AMTL would have had an easier time.

It was a very enjoyable game and i did play with a titan killer army because i saw an oppertunity to beat tim (for once) and took it. This was the first time i have managed to win a game decisivly the next time we play i will try to use a more ballanced army.
and did i mention i beat tim,i beat tim,i beat tim
