My thoughts:

This game worked great for the SW. I concentrated almost all units on 1 spot and the AMTL opponent did not which was a mistake. To be fair this is only her 3rd game so far at 3K (my wife ).

I have nothing to report about units feeling overpowered ur underpowered. Drop podding terminators are great!

Pictures will come up later today.

Aren't they just! They're one of a few areas I reckon are overpowered in the SW list. at some point I plan on running a 4k list, forcing the opponent to corner deploy to clump them up and then dropping 5 x Terminator formations onto them. The normal drop pod disadvantage of crossfire is irrelevant for them and the list should be brutal. IMO Drop Podding Terminators should cost MORE than regular Terminators or ideally not be allowed as separate formations at all (Epic-UK modified their SW list from Dobbsy's only having them as Grey Hunters upgrades).

Do people generally teleport standard Termies in this way? Other than the BM issue what's the difference? I would imagine the scatter on the drop pod Termies has an effect on this. It certainly did with the two Great Companies drop I've tried. 1700 points alone in the compulsory 5 base Great Companies (with no shooting) and Strike Cruiser really eats into your forces (3325 for those plus the Termies) leaving you 675 points for random choices to add around 1-4 extra activations.

In a Codex version of this (with 5 Teleporting Termies) you get back the 200 points from the Cruiser, aren't forced to take 275 point Tactical formations (giving you more ability to tailor your force), or scatter your troops due to drop rules and enemy ZOC considerations(who essentially gets to place your troops with clever placement of their own troops). Much more accurate.

Technically, 5 SW Termies cost 365 points each when deepstriking....

Looking forward to your 4K list and batrep.

The Terminators cost 125 points less for a start for no good reason (they're better than normal Terminators when mounted too due to LRCs plus can benefit from Pack Mentality which can be a significant boost). With Drop Pods rather than teleport there would also be 5 x Deathwind attacks, hitting every enemy model within 15cm of each drop pod, so a lot of the enemy army would likely start with blast markers, potentially quite a few blast markers too.

Base Great Companies are a great formation (better than Tactical Marines IMO), so requiring taking 5 of them is no drama. Minimal shooting can be added with a Razorback, the enemy would be more likely to be reacting to the Terminators than to them for a while anyway. 12-15 is the recommended numbers of activations for 4k so 10 (11) with 675 left over should be fine. You'd want to work your strategy around it obviously, placing your two objectives in a triangle 30cm from each other and the enemy blitz, forcing the enemy to deal with them or struggle with victory conditions. I'll test it out at some point anyway and report back.
