Historically, this style of weapon has been used to destroy U-Boat pens, collapse rail tunnels, and, significantly, sink the Tirpitz. They have never been used on tactical targets, only strategic ones. To me that signifies Fortifications and WE. What is the Tirpitz if not a WE?

I am not sure that you can specify a different Special effect for the MW / TK attack. That is down to the armour of the target.

What do you mean exactly by this GInger? Both attacks are/can be used, and each has a differant profile, similar to the Eldar Titan Power Fist. The only difference is that these attacks must be colocated and used together.

It is down to the way the Notes were written, as they implied that the Colossus bomb conferred a critical effect to the target.
They migh be better worded:-

    Notes:
      DC2. Critical Effect: Destroyed.
The Colossus Bomb's Macro weapon attack must target the unit under the center of the Barrage attack.

Oh, yeah. That's an easy fix.

Applying real-world logic to a world where genetically modified super-soldiers beat up giant robots with chainsaw swords is a mistake.

Actually it should be written

Imperial Navy Marauder Colossus
Type Speed Armour CloseCombat Firefight
War Engine Aircraft 5+ n/a n/a
Weapon Range Firepower Notes
Colossus Bomb 15cm 3BP Ignore Cover, Slow Firing, Fixed Forward Arc
and MW2+ TK(d3), Slow Firing
Twin Heavy Bolter 30cm AP4+/AA5+ Fixed Forward Arc
Twin Heavy Bolter 15cm AA5+ Rear Fire Arc

Damage Capacity 2. Critical Hit Effect: Destroyed.

Notes: The Colossus Bomb's Macro weapon attack must target the unit under the center of the Barrage attack.

I've always felt that's a cop out, to a certain degree. I mean, yes, it's a world where it really is feasable to destroy a battle tank with a mallet. However, it's a weapon with an obvious real world inspiration. The fluff matches the effects of the Tallboy. The shape of the weapon is very close. Even down to switching out the normal bombload for a single weapon, and the modification of the chassis by removing most of the defensive armament and modifying the bomb doors.

It's a Lancaster with a Tallboy, but in the future! That right there, that's typical GW.

Are we all in general agreement then?

The changes I have for v1.2 are:

Adding Armored Fist Platoon (as Minervan formation)

Changed Fortification wording to "up to" 50cm of trench and 6 emplacements, to allow less to be taken if desired.

Completely reworked Marauder Colossus. Used the tandem-mode shot, playtesting at 300 points for starters.

Changed the Elite rule to flat +1 to Rally, per original discussion.

Actually, the Tirpitz would certainly not be a WE. Keep in mind it was 250m long, which would make it 83 cm long as an epic model. The Tirpitz is most definitely a terrain feature.
