Hey, I know class has already started but can late comers still join? I can bring my own stool :D but no 40k Rhino though :( and I rarely 'follow the official line' when it comes to homework either.....but this is still a class not to be missed :D :D

A very absent lecturer sheepishly returns - thanks guys - I guess I'll let you off one assignment to make up for my delay. Anyway - I've decided what to do for the front end: I used the pair of doors which should go over the top hatch, cut them to size, and fitted them up front, with some plasticard padding, to act as a large double door for disembarking. The Behemoth will therefore go in the 'traditional' position.
Pics later. :D

RRRight, here we go again. I'll first point oit I went ahead with Rhino assembly and stuck on the front plate, according to instructions.

Next - here's how I cut off the ends of the pair of doors for the upper hatch - the cut was made using side cutters (  :o  ) just below and above the hinges. Keep the offcuts - they'll come in useful some day.  :;):

The doors were cleaned up a bit and glued to the fromt end of the CI - er, I mean Rhino, as shown in the accompanying pic. You'll notice I had to place plasticard (in tasteful and high-vis yellow) below the upper end of the doors for a good fit.

next - the sides, and buckets of filler!

Dare I say that I think the doors should be lower...no, I'll wait patiently 'til the thing is a little more progressed, after all this is THE Enginseer and he'll have an idea that far surpasses mine :D
Hurry up there Teach...is that the first time ever I said anything like that! and quite possibly it'll be the first time ever I'll be buying a 40K rhino too

Hi Justiniel. I agree with your door suggestion, and I considered it myself. But I'm trying to keep this simple as possible (because I'm lazy!). And when the doors open, a ramp folds out from inside to let the troops down...  :p

Seriously, though, a better way to do this would be to have the doors lower, as Justiniel suggested, and closer to vertical. You would then have to build up the area between the front panel and the doors with card. Certainly not impossible or even too difficult. This would also help 'break' the Rhino shape. Me, I'm going ahead this way - Justiniel can make an assignment, due next Friday, on lowering the doors.  :L  :p

Oh, and if you buy a Rhino, I want a commission from GW  :oo  :p

Pardon me while I thread-jack for a moment here but...

*ding dong*

Who is it?

Landship!

http://www.dreamforge-games.com/DreamFo ... opic=112.0

Actually... if you scaled it down and then if you yanked the las-guns off the sides, put epic scale bolters "amidships" like AA on a WW2 battleship and put a big turret on the front instead of the multiple turrets...

This would actually look kinda cool as a CI.

Admittedly it would be more of a terrain item... and an expensive one at that... than a game piece but...
