I think they are rather good rules, as it stops GW and the =][= hunting you down and beating you up for doing something against their IP.

Cheers

Hi!

I agree with Chris, you will be safe with these rules as well as obtain benefits for yourself and your game group.

Vitaminz,

What are the legal ramifications of fans getting together and sculpting models that wont be released for a long time and distributing them on the internet?

You can do it if your model doesn't resemble theirs more than 80%. Don't use their copyrighted background. You can mention that your sculpt could be used as a proxy as long as you mention their copyright.

Of course, corporate law and international law have practical realities, which means that GW outguns you financially and can hurt you if they want to do so.

What about charging for them?

Meng's right. Keep it grass-roots for guys like us and your other friends.

Or simply charging for shipping and the cost of supplies?

Most of us would do that if we liked the model.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

One thing to bear in mind is that whilst I am uncertain whether not GW staff visit this forum, I KNOW they are mailing list members of at least the EpicA and NetEPIC mailing lists.

This is great news for the respective games systems but I would restrict your intentions to private emails from now on if I was you :).

Hi!

I echo netepic's warnings, tread lightly on this subject and keep through private mails.
