Yes, Rgts & Bdes are roughly the same level of organization. Based on the country, era, etc., 3 Rgts/Bdes make a Division. And both can be separate units with either organic or attached support. So just for the exercise - 3-4 plts = a Company, 3-6 Cos.= a Bn, 3-4+ Bns = Rgt or Bde. So if you are going to do an Inf Bde, I'll give you the TO&E of the last unit I served with ('86-'90) - The 197th INF (Mech) (Sep) : 2 Mech Inf Bns, 1 Armor Bn, 1 FA (Field Arty) Bn, 1 Cbt Eng Co., 1 Armored Cav Troop (= Co.) 1 Cbt Spt Bn (Maint. Transport Medical etc. Cos), 1 MP Plt., Bde HQ. And a Bn is usually 600-1000 men, Rgt = 1100-3200, Bde = 2000-4000, generally based on country, era, etc. ... So a Tank Bn usually has around 30-50 (USSR vs. US) MBTs. So "Orange" is correct, all troops in the Bn are not manning MBTs/tanks. The last Armor Bn I was attached to, 2nd/69th had 4 Tanks Cos. - 14 MBTs each (4 per plt + 2 Plt HQ Tanks). And HQ & HQ Co. This had the support organic to the Bn. The Bn HQ and staff and HQ Co., a Scout Plt (6 APCs/ITVs or IFVs), Mortar Plt. (6 SP Hvy Mortars), Maint. Plt (8 Armor Rec Vehs, Maint. APCs, Trucks etc.), Admin Plt (pay, awards, etc.) Medical Plt., Logistic Sec. (Cooks, Trans Plt, Refueling Trucks). So No, 250 Tanks is closer to a Division. The last INF Bn, I was assigned to, 1st/58th Mech, had a HQ & HQ Co. (similar to the AR Bn- Scouts, Mortars, etc.), 4 Mech Cos. (12 APCs + 2 HQ APCs), and an Anti-Armor Co. (4 AT APCs Plts + 4 AT Secs -usually re- attached back to the INF Cos.). I hope that helps, but look at the Army lists of the particular version of Epic you want to play. The list tells you how they want you to do it ...
