Because the announcement was apparently an accident. Which is why it ended up as a single store facebook post more than a day before any other announcement, and 2 days before anything went up on the GW website.

Mine too. For the same reasons.
If they wanted BFG to cannibalize DFC's sales they should have released it a couple weeks ago. If they don't actually come out with it until after the DFC kickstarter is in fullfillment, then that won't accomplish anything except maybe cannibalize BFG's sales.
Thinking about it. If they were interested in doing ongoing support for these games, can you imagine the what they could do with BB these days with their ability to do single character plastic mini-sprues? Do a $50 box with generic players for each team and then they could do a ton of (GW expensive) star players. Of course, being GW, each one would probably be more powerful than the last.
