Hello all,
I am dabbling with the idea of purhasing a few aircraft instead of the normal 'tanks and Chimeras' from Forgeworld.
If you've the time, would you post if you think:
a) They're any good (Model-wise, no reason why they wouldn't be, everything else is excellent!).
b) If the aircraft are a worthwhile investment (points & cash-wise) for Epic-A.
Cheers.

I have all the Epic Forge World models including the Tau & Kroot and many of the terrain pieces. All very nice, but a little "pricey", however the quality is worth it. I say "buy" ... , but that's me ...

I like the Forgeworld aircraft, but the metal ones work just as well and are a fraction of the price of Forgeworld resin.
Plus, the specialized variants of the Forgeworld aircraft are just "counts as" models in tournament play. In other words, the extra detail on the models doesn't do much for you outside of aesthetics and scenario play.
I think Forgeworld is really for collectors, which is almost where Epic is now: a game for collectors since so few play it any more. I'm not sure if E-A will be the game that helps to "relaunch" Epic. The game's shortcomings are blaring. I don't see new blood getting attracted to the game and without more customers, Epic, most likely, won't fly.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I just hope they release the Epic models for E-A they mentioned, whether it's a success or a failure. ?Either way, Forge World will probably continue to produce Epic, a little at a time ... I hope ? ...

100% PUREE PMA here then.
Come on guys, any newbies reading this would be totally put off.
Any shortcomings in the games (including some GLARING crud in the regular GW catalouge) will not be apparent to most people.
All we require is that people buy the game and the line continues to be supported by GW.
Any problems with the rules can be corrected as Herr Johnston himself states, (Verbatim) "House rules will make up a large part of any game", we can correct any problems we find with it!
The negativity pervading MANY comments on this board is discouraging, we all have the right to our opinoins, but tearing it apart before we see whats released acheives nothing (except we all have a laugh ripping apart GW!)
My two pence!

Well I agree with you for the most part. ?I hope I didn't come off as negative. I've been "Epicing" since '90, and have been thru SM1, SM2, E40K and I have bought almost all Epic models, rules etc. ?We play a "hybrid" rule system and I have e-mailed Jervis numerous times. So I'll buy Epic G/W & F/W regardless. ?Sorry, I hope everyone who is interested, will buy E-A, I really look forward to the new models, etc. ?I don't always agree with the marketing, rules etc., for Epic. It's sometimes easy to be critical, read some of my past posts, here, but so far G/W & F/W have got a lot of my $ over the past 12 years. So I say start saving your $ boys, I will ... E-A is coming ... and I want a piece of the action !

Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum, but not to the games and GW and the hobby in general (40k since '91).
Anyway, the question, or gripe, is the ork lists for EpicA(obviuosly ). I don't get the Warlord special rule.
As the Warlord is a character it will upgrade a unit but which one?
The special rule also mentions a Warboss, which I seem to have missed?
Anybody care to elaborate?
Thanks!

Hi, welcome to the boards.
I just printed off the rules and army lists the other day.
It took me a while to figure out, but from what I gather, the warlord is free. He must be asigned to a great gargant if your force includes one, or joins a gargant or other warboss if you havn't.
I then looked for the warboss', but couldn't find them. I think they mean units of Nobz, from something that was wrote in the descriptions.
As far as I can tell, the only characters are the Warlord and Oddboyz. I dont see any warbosses.

There used to be a Warboss character upgrade, but it was scrubbed several versions ago. Somehow, despite the fact that it is pointed out every time, the reference never gets deleted.
The Warlord upgrade has to go on a Great Gargant if you have one. After that, it can go on a Gargant or a Nobz stand. If, by some freakish army design, you don't have any nobz, it could theoretically go on any other unit.

Hi!
It would be a good idea to pool efforts.

Quote (netepic @ 22 2003 Nov.,16:05) | How would you like to be an administrator for the Epic:A side of the Tactical Encyclopedia? | OK, sounds good. The text of the wiki is all saved in text files anyway, so it will be easy to move wherever it needs to go. Since I haven't done much with the SM, I'll leave them out and concentrate on the Guard. I also don't know much about the Ork list, so someone will have to help out there, as well.
