Well, I managed to aquire a couple of Ork epic sprues off Schoon a few weeks ago. I had never bothered with the Orks, but now I have the minis.... and so another obsession starts!
Anyway, I have a few questions. I just want a basic warband, in transports. It states that my Ork warband can have two Battlewagons, and that each of these can carry four stands. Did I miss something? Are we talking about the same Battlewagons as Epic 40K? I know that we are waiting for new Battlewagon models, but will these old ones count as Battlewagons, or something else?
And even if the Battlewagons do take four infantry stands, there are still another four who have to footslog it across the battlefield. Is this also right? Is it impossible to take a mecahnised Ork warband?
OK, so I can take two Battlewagons and a Battlefortress. In the transport rules for the Battlewagon it says that it can transport four stands, and one of the two may be a gun??? Which is right?
Does this also mean that gunz are transported, not hitched up and towed?
Thanks.

I saw that I could transport the entire warband with a battlewagon and a battle fortress, and still have an extra battlewagon or stompa. But, if I take the extra boyz, there are not enough transports.
So, what will the previous batlewagons be now? Will they still be battlewagons which can carry four stands?
I looked at all of the Squigoths on EBay, but my Orks will all be Bad Moons - lots of boyz and wagons.

I think the old battlefortresses stay as that.
Why not have more battle fortresses/battlewagons or guntrukks to transport the extra boyz. I'm sure you can choose each extra more than once.
Do you know why there are no rules for Squiggoths and weirdboyz? Is it something to do with them being feral? I thought there are Feral Orks on Armeggeddon if it is the case.

I think that Jervis mentioned that the feral Ork list would be an addition to the normal Orks, and worked on later. I guess that for now you could use them to represent Battlewagons, etc.
Just so I am clear on this, are the previous Battlewagons now designated Guntruks?
Thanks.

Not sure what they look like, so I dont know. I would guess it's up to the user. The only Ork vehicles I have at the moment, are the ones from the Epic40K box. The ones that have rollers and claws etc fitted to the front. I use these as guntrukks, so if the items you're on about are larger than these, you could use them as the battlewagons.
Squiggoths as battlewagons? I guess I could do that for now.

Right, thanks for that. Lets see ifr we cant work this out:
Old model - New vehicle - Transport - Heavy Guns Battlefortress - Battlefortress - 8 - 6 Battlewagons - War Truks - 2 - 1 Battlewagons - Gun Wagonz - 2 - 1 (Roller) ? - Battlewagon - 4 - 3
The Battlefortress seems to be self evident, the old model is used for the new stats, and will probbly be replaced, but that is OK.
The Battlewagons are OK. The vehicles previously called Battlewagons are now not Batlewagons, and there is no model (nor has there ever been a model) to represent what EpicA now calls Battlewagons.
So, that just leaves the last two - War Truks and Gun Wagonz. The only real difference (model wise) is that the Gun Wagonz could take a roller.
So, can anyone let me know what models are used for these two vehicles?
Also, is it possible for a formation to take the same upgrade twice? I just assumed that you could not do this, but logically, why not?

I am afraid that you cant enable this, I have set them for the boards. There are two functions of the boards relating to pictures.
Inline - this posts the pictures in the thread, instead of the link. I have disabled this for those people visiting on a 56K modem or less.
Upload - this would let you upload the pictures to the forum site, whether they are displayed inline or as links. I have disabled this due to the server space. If people need space to store pictures for these boards, let me know. I will try to find some free web space for this purpose.
Anyway, back to the thread. Thanks for your pictures, I guess that it really doesnt matter what they look like, as long as everyone knows what is what. But, if there is a convention for which models are used for which vehicles, it would be good to know from the start (or to organise it amoungst ourselves now).
Also, is it possible to take the same formation upgrade more than once? This will make a big difference to my mechanised Bad Moonz formations.
Thanks.

I have to admit that posting pictures to the epic40k.com forum was useful.
I can understand why you would disable the "upload" method due to the server space, but why not allow the inline (as someone who doesn't wish to view the pictures can do so from their account options.
Do you wish to view images in posts, such as smilies and posted images? |
Just my thoughts

I dont know if, when you disable pictures, you are displayed a link to them. Can you see the pictures, if you have selected them not to be displayed? If people want the pictures inline, then I can certainly do that. Anyone with any opinions on this, for or against?

I am in favour of allowing us to show images within the forums. My reasons are that is makes sense (esp in the painting modelling forum). But those on "slow" connections can disable the feature (and enable) easily.

I'm with "almost-always-right" Jimbo in that I support pictures on the forums!
A disable function could keep those with slower functions from tearing out their hair if they're not patient. I have a slower cable connection myself, but I'm very patient.
By the way, Jimbo, I finally found an AT-1 era Space Marine biker with the chainsword.
Shalom to all, Maksim-Smelchak.

Right, I will investigate this. I will need to test a few things to make sure that it does not compromise the security of the boards...
