I have a question for more experience epic players.

I've been assembling some more miniatures for my ToEG Imperial Guard, and I've hit a conundrum.

I have 12 assembled chimeras, 6 unassembled chimeras, and 3 hellhounds.

It would be a simple conversion to change the hellhounds into chimeras (literally, just put a different turret on them and NOT put on the napalm tanks).

21 Chimeras give me enough for 3 Mechanized Infantry Platoons.

So, the question is, does it make more sense to assemble the hellhounds as chimeras, or would 3 additional hellhounds (I already have 3 assembled and painted) be a more useful addition to an Imperial Guard force?

Thanks!

Chimeras, pretty rare to use more than 3 hellhounds

If using Steel Legion - Chimeras
If using Ulani or Cadians - Hellhounds

Magnets! You can get rare earth magnets that size; it's really not hard to magnetize turrets.

That said, I would agree wholeheartedly with E&C's answer - Hellhounds as a Company upgradeare mediocre. Hellhounds as a formation are very good.

Thanks!

Looks like the consensus is chimeras. This was were I was leaning too.

Using magnets is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how well it would work with the napalm tanks on the back.

Thanks again!

True. If I did it myself, I'd assume internal tanks. It just makes sense, especially with the 4+ armor.
