Hi,
I'm currently in the process of making up a Black Legion army for one of the future Epic UK tournaments. I'll have three factions in the list from Chaos Undivided, Khorne and finally Thousand Sons. It's regarding the Thousand Sons faction that I need some advice...
For the Titan allies, I'm going to field Titans from the Thousand Sons faction, therefore does this mean that I'll have to use the (underpowered) Titan stats from the Thousand Sons army list or can I still the Black Legion Titan stats? Would a spot of blue and gold paint really affect their effectiveness in battle?

no, you use the stats available in the list - the list is black legion so use those stats.
If you are fielding a thousand suns army using the thousand suns list, then you get the thousand suns titans.
Titan stats vary from list to list to represent the influence of different gods and to continue / complement the play style of that list.
