If units are in transports and they lose transports due to shooting (say indirect BP fire) the frm receives blast markers (allocated to the back). Are infantry in the transports at the back allocated BM's as well, or just the transports?

When it is that frms turn to move can they adjust their position so that the units with blast markers at the back would be at the front, transferring the BM's to the other new back units for purposes of firing? Or, do the BM's follow the original unit they were allocated to?

If a thunderhawk lands in an engage action with infantry, can the consolidate move be used to re-embark so that the transported frm can be taken off again in the end phase? Must all units in the frm be in contact with the TH? Or, just one unit to re-embark?

Do war engines block other WE's line of sight in the shooting phase? Or, is it handled as true LOS as in 40k?

Thanks

BMs are not "allocated" to specific units, but instead the formation as a whole. Thus whenever the formation shoots, you determine supression based on 1) the number of blast markers, 2) the direction of the enemy formation, and 3) which units have range and LOS. Thus units furthest from the enemy are supressed first, and units being transported cannot be supressed, as they do not have range or LOS (being unable to fire at all).

Infantry may use their consolidate move to reembark if they are within 5cm of the Thunderhawk, but a flyer cannot land and take off in the same turn, so the marines would have to wait until the end of the following turn to disengage.

WEs block line of sight, full stop. Thus the formation you leave your Baneblade Company in can become very important, in order to keep from getting in each other's way.

So, if I understand correctly, if a TH arrives in turn 1 to engage with transported infantry, the TH and infantry cannot leave until the end phase of turn 2?

The pick up of formation 2 takes place during the end phase?

Could you then teleport with terminators and pick them up in the same turn (in the end phase, I'd assume)?

No, formation 2 embarks the thunder hawk as part of its own activation. That's how I understand it anyway :)

Nope, something like a thunderhawk can suck in another friendly formation as part of it's ground attack landing assuming it's not also disembarking a different formation and that all members of the formation are within 5cm of the thunderhawk (you could I suppose just abandon ones furhter out than 5cm for the cost of a blaskmarker). The thunderhawk can then take of with a disengage move in the endphase.

Agreed Mike; Consolidation is deemed to take place during the end phase. So, a formation that consolidates onto an air-transport prevents the air-transport from disengaging in the end phase.

There are a number of ways of getting around this particular constraint:-
  • Once the assault has taken place, an empty air-transport may land and embark the troops as part of it's move.
  • The infantry may become broken and use their withdrawal moves to embark onto the air-transport (assuming that this is more than 15cm from any enemy).

SG is correct on both WE blocking LoS and Suppression

Well yes, but Terminators can't really do anything if you do that.

What do you mean by that, Hena? Surely it's quite useful if you pick up the termies as the last activation of turn 1.?

I hate to disagree with Hena, but this is not entirely correct.

There are two ways for a fomation to embark into an air-transport;
  • Under 3.1.3, the formation may move into the air-transport. This is usually through activation though it could be a withdrawal move or consolidation (but note the associated constraint)
  • Under 4.2.5, the air-transport may activate, land within 5cm of the formation and embark it before carrying out its ground attack.

So, the Terminators may activate and do something first (shoot, assault support etc), before the air-transport arrives late in the turn to pick them up.

However, Hena is correct that if the Terminators activated, moved to the air-transport and embarked, they cannot then do anything usefull. Only Eldar Formations can shoot before embarking.
