hi guys!
I just did some thinking on applying E:A scale to terrain.
I went with 1:300 - which to me means a 6mm model is about 1.8 m tall. In other words, 1 mm in model is 300 mm in real.
If I use these figures on the table, a 1.2 x 1.2 m table has a length of only 360 m (300*1.2). Isn't that a bit small? I mean modern assault rifles can shoot up to 300 m, so the proper shooting distance for almost all the weapons would be at least 1 m....
also, thinking about buildings - usual floor height say 3 m => leads to 10 mm in model, i.e. 1 cm. Is this right? I don't have any plastic ruins at hand, but the average floor height seemed to be more than that (on the model)... I was looking at some google maps for inspiration but I couldn't get any scale that made sense to me, especially with these numbers.
so, where did I go wrong?
cheers, M

I use 10mm floors currently, but for mixed ruins and intact, go with 15mm, otherwise some of the taller models won't fit between floors!
As for ground scale, it's not the same as the miniature scale. Jervis states in the FAQ that he assumes the ground scale to be about 1km/30cm.

yup, it's "elastic". so 15cm represents ~150 metres or close combat range, 30 cms ~ 1 Km, and the 6'x4' table is around 30km x 15Km
