How come EA doesn't have space marine medic characters?

Their abilities are kinda below the detail level of Epic.

And furthermore, Epic tries to be more realistic than Warhammer 40,000, and the abilities of Apothacaries in Warhammer 40,000 are, well, a bit silly.

They are effectively part of the leader ability that space marine characters have.

Or the Invulnerable Save.

Or the armor save. Or the lack of a successful 'to hit' die roll.

They grant every member of their squad an extra 4+ saving throw against all but the most powerful of hits.

Because they can fix bullet wounds and heal their patients in microseconds, apparently.

Basically, the 40k rule is pretty dumb.

They used to let you reroll a failed save, which made a little more sense. Sort of.

They also used to give you VP for dead guys. That was fun.

As a house rule you could run...

Medic - Character - Leader, +1 EA Assault Weapon, Invulnerable Save 25 points (attach to infantry only)
Tech Marine - Character - Leader, +1 EA Small Arms, Invulnerable Save, 25 points (attach to vehicle only)

Never going to make the tournament list, but certainly wouldn't break the list for casual play.
