Continuing my series of random posts...

I bought a load of well-painted Dark Angels, and like the colour scheme, so want to continue it with the rest of my army, but I don't like the Dark Angel background. I'd prefer a chapter that's a bit, well, happier! Does anyone know any chapters that use a similar colour scheme?

Aurora Chapter uses green, their background "thing" is that they have more tanks than any other Chapter.

Salamanders Chapter uses green, their background "thing" is that their skin always turns jet black. Also IIRC they like to use Devastator squads and melta/flamer type weapons.

If you can't find one that takes your fancy, you can always make up your own. That way you can give them any background you like as well as name their Chapter by something you find cool, not what someone else thought was cool....

At one point it was a pretty up-to-date list of all the chapters mentioned in GW pubs. I have no idea if it's been maintained for the past several years but it is still an extensive list.

As in straight green?

Most official Chapters aren't actual DA green. The Aurora and Salamanders are both slightly off (well, sort of. DA Green USED to be Salamanders Green. So RT-era Salamanders were/are DA Green).

Other Official Chapters (that are at least vaguely close to being DA Green):

Dark Eagles
Death Knights
Invaders
Mantis Warriors
Subjugators (someone on the B&C wrote an IA for them, though I don't think he ever finalized it. It was pretty good, IIRC)
Valedictors (note that I don't actually have a picture of their scheme. However, someone around these parts likely does)

Unofficial Chapters (from the B&C Librarium, except for my Stone Hearts, who I include out of sheer arrogance and affection for them):

Stone Hearts (note that they're based on a one-line mention of an official Chapter, which didn't have a scheme)

No qutie correct. They are a very humane Chapter as they tend to defend human civilist. ALso they like fire and heat based weapons.

Going to go with the Dark Eagles. Nice colour scheme that's not much different to Dark Angels at Epic scale, and no huge background so I can tweak it around a bit myself.

Will paint up a few stands and let everyone see my first attempts soon.

And don't they have red eyes (aswell as the dark skin)...?
I'm sure I heard something about that when the World's End Radio guys were talking to Nick Kyme about his BL book on Salamanders.

Yup they have red eyes too.

Used to be, they were just "black guys", as in african in appearance. They got retconned a few years back.

Yes but that's just appearance and not rally noticabel in Epic (but i tried and painted red eyes on all my helmetless Salamanders).
