Hena's impression of what the rule should be might make more logical sense, but I think the wording of the rule is clear to the effect that 'A LV counts as an AV for everything, except it can also be hit by AP fire'.

Therefore everything an AV can or can't do, an LV follows the same rules.

OTOH cover rule specify ARMOURED vechiles while LV says they are UNarmoured vechiles.

Messy rules. Need clarification.

I don't think I'v ever seen anyone play it as LV gives the -1. Certainly for me I wouldn't claim it.

Check the FAQ's it says no they don't give cover.

I'm surprised Hena didn't know this was in the FAQ to start with, having just worked through all the Erratas (and FAQ's?) for the rulebook update.

Haha!

None actually, but Rug tipped me off on a few sneaky rules in our game the other week and I just wondered whilst sticking my bikers together whether the base contact cover rule extended over to light vehicles too.  From the rules as I read them it seemed that it did, but I seem to have opened a can of worms.

This may be one of those 'well the rules don't say I CAN'T do it' situations.

Looks to me like an oversight in the core rules that was subsequently corrected by FAQ.

It's funny to think that for all GW's lack of support, Epic does actually have a better Errata/FAQ than any of the Core games.
