Order of teleports

I can't see anything that dictates which player must place teleporting units first. Anyone know?

For example, a recent game highlighted the need for order in teleports when the Eldar Avatar was able to teleport in response to a Terminator formation's teleport, thereby placing itself between the Terminators and their engage target formation.

From my reading of the rules, this seems to be acceptable. What does the community say?

It's a tricky one.

Personally I would say the higher SR army can choose to Teleport first or second, alternating each player's teleporting formation thereafter.

What the rules say though?

Seems wrong to punish the 'better' army (i.e. more strategically minded) my forcing them to teleport first.
Similar to the Aircraft fly-off punishes the 'better' army as their aircraft must fly off first (often into enemy aircraft AA range).

I think it's in the 2008 FAQ.

Player with higher stratergy rating can either go first or force the other player to go first. Then alternate. Once you pass you can't telport any more formations that turn.

Aircraft disengagement and rallying are done by the player that won the initiative first, not the higher strategy rating.

The end phase runs off of SR, just like setup and "beginning of turn" activity.  For example, from 1.14.1:
In the End, phase both players take turns to rally
formations that have Blast markers or that are broken.
Rally the formations one at a time, starting with the player
with the higher strategy rating.

I think since it's not specified any other way, the birthday rule kicks in :smile:

That is, the player with next birthday places his formation first. If he's got more than one, they should probably alternate.
