The winner of the Epic: Raiders artwork competition is Laycock a.k.a. Stugmeister with his Dark Eldar Tormentor battling with the Lemun Russ in the desert.  And quite a decisive win I must point out!

Stugmeister, congratulations on a fantastic job.  You may post here or email me as to which two prizes you would like from the grab bag.  Once you select them, 2nd place will choose, then third.  

2nd Place goes to Lindbourn (a.k.a. Juddski) for his Orb hovering over Monoliths piece.  No shame here with almost a third of the votes to this one piece.  I must also make a special thanks to Juddski for donating so much time and energy to the Raiders project with the huge amount of art he offered up.  He had 6 of the top 10 pieces!

3rd Place was a tie in the votes, so I am making a judgment call based on our own internal voting and the number of wiki 'hits' and awarding it to DJ Wilkinson a.k.a. Sir Gavalot for his Necron Lord in a sandstorm.  My personal feeling is that the detail on this piece is just tremendous and I wish we could have seen more from him, but his own personal schedule limited his entries to this one.  Stugmeister and Juddski, be thankful cuz this kid IMO would have hit one out of the ballpark if he had the time! :D

All winners, I will print off and bind a copy of the Epic: Raiders supplement for you as soon as we complete it.  Make sure you all email/PM me your addresses so that we can get you the prizes.

Seriously, to all who participated a big thank you.  You will see all of these pieces and more in the Epic: Raiders supplement.  The front cover, oddly enough, will probably not be any of these pieces.  While the decision is not final, we've been leaning towards one of the remaining seven entries.  Can anyone guess? :;):

congratulations to stug , for winning ,a well dserved first place ?personally i voted for"Lemun Russ race toward horizon ", but on retrospect i think the best picture won "Dark Eldar Tormentor attacks Russ" is
.truely stunning pic stug ,kudos ? .i also think the "Necron Lord in Sandstorm" should've got more votesI.M.H.O. but i could only vote for one grrrrrrr..

Thanks a lot to everybody who voted for my artwork. ?:D

There were some great pieces of artwork in the top ten and I feel privileged to have gotten first place.

Judski: Great work as always, I love the variety of textures and detail you put into your work.

Sir Gavalot: I love your pic - especially how you've stylised the Necrons! I'd love to see some more of your work.

For the prizes I think I'll go for the Necron Phalanx and the Necron Warbarque.

EDIT: Moscovian; would it be ok for me to post my artwork on my DeviantArt gallery?

Please, all artists post away. ?I was initially hesitant to do that just to keep things 'raw' for the competition, but by all means they are yours so do as you wish!

Stugmeister, I will get those prizes to you as soon as possible. ?Email or PM me with your address and I'll make sure it gets out to you by next week.

but as i've already stated i think the pic that won was the right choice, i also liked Sir Gavalot's  so much that he can have my second with his third prize (but i'd like the raiders book please)

Juddski, I will pass on your generous offer to Sir Gavalot.

Everyone, you are quite welcome.

Keep in mind we are still looking for more artwork - this time I am hoping to make a wish list and anyone who wants to take a crack at the 'requests' is welcome.  This isn't to say that the pieces we got weren't great, but I was not terribly specific on what we were trying to portray in Raiders so the artists really were operating in the dark for most of the competition.  I'll post something later this month and hopefully people will be able to help.
