Gentlemen,

Have any E-A articles been featured in the USA White Dwarf yet?

I haven't seen any yet!

Shalom,

Unreleased?  But I remember seeing it (in one piece) in the Epic section of the US web site.  It was $35 I think.  And no, it wasnt in the archives or mail order sections, it was in the Epic section proper, when there was one.  :D

Yeah, they released the Warmonger titan back when the Epic Magazine was called Firepower, it was the first Epic miniature (Massiveture?  lol) that Specialist-Games produced.  I guess they are re-releasing it for Epic: Armageddon.

Maybe they'll make a metal version...but I doubt they'll release the old plastic one.  Jervis says in the FAQ in the rulebook that there will be no plastic titans...

IF they re-release the Imperator and Warmnger (and I doubt it) as metal kits I'm afraid they're gonna be horribly expensive! ?40 easily!

Cheers! :)

I wrote this question once before but conversation seemed to ignore it so I'm trying again.

BTW: If you are a warmaster fan, Fanatic mag #1 is apparently V Warmaster heavy. 14 pages of it apparently ;).

Hopefully there is some EPIC:A in there too :)

Hi!

There sure seems to be no epic in Jimbo's link and not much in the May preview either...

...not good...

..perhaps June?

Hi all,
I might be the bearer of bad news - the following is from the GW website on the May 2004 issue of White Dwarf (UK edition):

"This month we present the final instalment in our series on Epic: Armageddon. Jervis Johnson takes a look at what Fanatic have planned for the system in the coming months and years?"

Whilst news of Jervis' plans is welcome, that single word - 'final' - referring to support of Epic by WD sound damnably ominous.
:(

I find it surprisong that GW don't want to plug their own game more. I know SM & BFG appeal more to the older gamers but I think they are missing the chance to get the next generation of gamers hooked.

My younger cousin is 15 years old- he now has 3 armies for W40k- if there had been better coverage of Epic A in WD I know I could have convinced him to start an Epic army instead of a 4th W40k army. But un;ess he see more Epic figures being sold in the stores, or even games of Epic played in store, or as a minimum Epic featured in WD, then he will never get into the game.

every game needs the occasional influx of fresh blood. The lack of support will harm the long term future of Epic. Lets just hope that Epic does well enough in the short term for SG to want to continue the open playtesting approach and the gradual release of new army lists and figures.

Cheers

James

I think a lot will depend on how well they plug the new fanatic mag. If that goes well, Epic and all the other games get continous, high quality support. I was encouraged that a free copy will be given to all UK WD subscribers (big profile boost) and that with a subscription the cost will be ?3 per mag. That price is not bad for a full colour mag with no outside ads. I just saw an edition of Runner's World which is smallerand basically a big ad with an asking price of ?2.95. I'm just waiting to see the finished prodct with crossed fingers.  :) Prominent display in GW/newsagents would be a big plus as well.

Hi!

I sometimes think fanatic doesn't even know how to market the game to other GW players.

If you play 40 or fantasy then you expect continous support in WD and releases every so often as well as product visible and played in whatever store you go to.

The usual GW customer doesn't play or tries any other game that doesn't fill the mold GW has created. Yet Fanatic cranks out games that do not live up to the support GW themselves have accustomed people to.

Like it or not epic's marketing is definitely "flavor of the month" as far as mainstream GW players are concerned.
