Umm...... there might actually be a problem there.
It is being seriously considered now skipping the various mags, there Jervis talks about it on the EPICentre.
I personally think it is a great idea but I am not sure how it will work for people who are owed issues - there substitute newsletter was rather short term and not an ideal replacement.

While I can see why they may wish to do that (some of the BFG mags are very thin on content) I cant see epic stacking up against the other systems in vying for space in a combined mag or in WD apart from a few small articles. Certainly not to the level articles went to in the old Epic one...

So much for my 6 issues ... and $ ... Just another case of wait and see and wait and see, etc., etc., etc.,

..Come on guys, less of the doom & gloom...
A link to what Jervis said...http://www.netepic.org/INCOMIN....&sid=18 Personally I think a combined magazine would be great, since I've basically stopped playing 40k and don't play fantasy.. I'd definitely buy it to get Necromunda, BFG and Epic rules and info, especially if it is going to be in full colour! I'd guess if it were made in WD size that there would also actually be more room to fit articles into as each one would be around 90-odd pages...

Quote (primarch @ 21 2003 Oct.,00:22) | There's been a lot of "getting rid of" lately and not enough "going to add" to epic.
So much for support.... | For a man who wants new models, You should be quite pleased with the selection they have under way for the first release - Dont know what I can say so I will resist the temptation, but suffice to say that there is some good stuff coming (and nicely painted too )

Umm.... I think it is a great thing, we get a brand new, full colour magazine supporting all the specialist games. Sod White Dwarf, why bother buying it, I have Fanatic mag now.... it's my hero.... (or something like that).
General vibe is though, that it is a good thing.

Hehe- precisly Tom... Can't wait.. Colour pictures will do a lot for it I think- modelling articles were okay in the old Epic/BFG etc Mags, but due to there only being 2 colour pages on the inside cover, it made it a little difficult to tell what was going on in some of them...

Especially as it would mean colour. Like 'Seer said, modelling articles expecially would be so much better. A painting article without pictures is useless (IMHO, at least to show the finished article), but one with B&W photos is just frustrating!

Quote (primarch @ 21 2003 Oct.,22:04) | My grip has to do with that I really dislike having "epic" diluted with other games in one mag. I DONT play anything else, I dont really CARE about their other games. I want a mag that ALL epic, like it used to be.
The obvious problem with a combined mag is how is coverage determined? Sure epic might get more articles at the beginning, but what about later? | I hate to be grumpy as well, but I also worry. When LoTR was added to WD there were problems as people who did not collect it felt that they were paying for something that they dont want. How much will a magazine that encompasses all Specialist Games be? How much are people willing to pay for 1/5 of that magazine. And what happens when the popularity of something like Inquisitor or Warmaster leads to lots more submissions for those games. GW would be foolish to ignore the majority of readers, who may not want Epic (fools!).
Also, didnt they just recently stop the Citadel Journal, aftger splintering the various mags for the games off of it? We seem to be going round in circles and we only have individual mags because the combined did not work (apparently).
