Puff the Magic Dragon.

I'm not sure what it says about me, but I can remember the lyrics to that.....

As for that model, it's not bad, but I like the original one (which I have) better.

Evil and Chaos: You are a terrible tease  :;): .  Whenever you start dropping hints, I suddenly start feeling more optimistic, but at the same time, I also start to feel that I shouldn't be thinking more positively, as there have been so many unfulfilled expectations in the past from GW when it comes to Epic.

Remember FW decided to keep selling the Epic scenery like the Fortifications, Tank Factory and Cathedral.

Oh that's right, they didn't...   :oo:

But wait remember the Harridan!

Oh... :sigh:

FW still sell some Epic scenery.

But the most useful terrain - the bunkers and the road sections have been out of stock for over 2 years. Thats some nice commitment to epic.

Well except for E&C who insists to know something....for at least a year or so...but is reluctant to give any hard facts :D

My view is that if that if you know something tell us - I really can't see what the problem would be - its not as if every 40k+fantasy release isn't leaked months before.

They don't have a commitment to Epic. To be honest I was surprised when they produced models for them to begin with, let alone a whole army. I do think that if Games Workshop stopped their half-assed production of Epic and turned it over to another manufacturer then it would be better for the game and the players.

I don't see how GW stopping production would help in any way whatsoever. They produce models for 6 complete lists which are kept in stock and delivered quickly. FW produce models for 1 list and some pieces (many of them overlapping GW models) for the others with slightly better detail but abysmal quality control, delivery and customer service. They have never shown any commitment to produce any more whole epic ranges or even to keep up what they have produced. I can't see that there is any more likelihood of them even matching the extent of GWs line than Epic being made a core game

I suppose we can be generous and call Siege Masters a stand alone army. So yeah 6 complete armies. My point is what is with armies like Chaos? They sell the infantry and that's it. Did they stop in the middle of the release and change their minds? That's why I called their attempt "half-assed". And what's with the Tyranids? They have the molds for them. They just don't/can't sell them. Why not? Do I want GW to sell Epic? Of course I do. But before people start bitching and moaning about how FW doesn't support what they've already made they should look at how GW is conducting themselves.

FW produce models for 1 list and some pieces (many of them overlapping GW models) for the others with slightly better detail but abysmal quality control, delivery and customer service.

1.Slightly better detail? You have to be kidding man! The FW versions of SG models are far superior in detail. Not to mention they are much cheaper. 2.Let's talk quality control. Have you bought any SG models lately? How about Land Raiders or the dreaded Leman Russ? They look like they started to melt and warp. The mold lines are horrible. Most of which obscures tons of detail. 3.What can I say about FW customer service? I ordered a Revenant Titan from them 2 years ago. A few months ago I had a look through the box and noticed the ring for its shoulder socket was missing. After all that time had elapsed they still sent it out to me. All they asked is in the future review the contents of my order sooner. Which is totally reasonable. 4.Yes the delivery is often a month or two from your order date, but I live in the U.S so I expect that amount of time to get anything from the U.K.

They have never shown any commitment to produce any more whole epic ranges or even to keep up what they have produced.

They manage to keep up with AI and I'm willing to bet far fewer people play that than Epic. My point is that if FW took over complete production of Epic I'm positive that they would put their full support into it. Ultimately it is GW's fault that a much smaller company like FW can't maintain ALL of the niche Epic products that they once produced. If GW fully supported their line of Epic models then more people would play and it would give FW a reason to keep their stock up.

I can't see that there is any more likelihood of them even matching the extent of GWs line than Epic being made a core game

I think FW would surprise you. Of course I don't think any of it will happen. GW will maintain their bit of stock and poor molds, raising the price of it year after year, forcing most of us to look to Ebay and find E40K era stuff that was better cast and generally of a better quality.

As some may know, I was interviewed to be a Games Designer for GW last year. I didn't get the job ultimately, but I was interviewed inside the GW studio.

In order to get in there, I had to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement, and that means that if I talk about anything I may or may not have seen inside the Studio, I will be breaking the law.

It doesn't matter whether I talk about Epic, or Warhammer, or Lord of the Rings, I am banned from revealing anything I may have seen in there.

All I can say is five things:

1 - Cheer up fellas.
2 - Jervis is very tall, and has said in public twice to my knowlege that he thinks we'll see *new* *SG* models for Epic, probably in around a year or so. I don't think he was lying.
3 - GW's normal 'preview' window when they start leaking info is 3 months in advance of release. (Oh and I reckon that 95% of the info you read on Warseer is intentionally leaked).
4 - Forgeworld are definitely interested in doing some more Epic, but not right now.
5 - Damn You Robbin Cruddace!*

*The chap who actually got the job, and has now worked on the WFB Lizardmen army book, which would have been my dream project for GW... Grrr!  :))

I didn't know that you had applied for that position, although there is no particular reason why I should, but from what I've read of your posts both on here and on Warseer, I think you would have done a very good job.

Points two and three are of particular interest, but I won't try to weedle anything else out of you, as I wouldn't want to get you into trouble.  The only area of doubt, I suspect, is the fact that Jervis thinks that we will see new releases, which does sound a little bit tentative.

Anyway, I shall await developments with interest.
