A lot of the "art" in the new book is just re-hash from versions long ago, so I agree miniature pictures give any work a fresh look.

Primarch

Er, I only spotted four pictures which have been in the previous editions of Epic. On page 8 (E40k box cover), page 13 (E40k Player's Edition cover), page 72 (1st edition Space Marine box cover) and page 165 (Titan Legions box cover).  There are 16 other pics I've seen elsewhere. This leaves 48 pics I've not seen before. :o

Have I missed something?  ???

I'll be buying the Rules and most of the new E:A once it arrives in the US in May-June ... then I'll know what you are talking about ... ?:L

Aside from the first 5 pages (index, credits, short story), the whole rule book is availablein PDF format so you can get an idea of what the models and artwork are like (although the PDF files are only in black & white, it still gives you a reasonable idea of what they're like).

I thought the same thing. I really liked the artwork in the book. I like pics of the models too, but I didn't think there was a shortage of them, they have individual pics of every model for Orks\IG\SM which is way more photos than previous Epic books. I liked how they put the pics of the models next to their stat-line entries too.

Thanks C/F, either way I'll get the new rules as I like all the "pomp & circumstance" !  And pretty pics ! :;):  Plus I collect all the epic rules as a matter of protocal !   :D  I heard there is an actual catalogue of the E:A models in the UK, which would be nice, since both my gaming buddy and I still can't see any pics on the G/W UK site ... oh well, May is not that far off ...  :{

Most of the art is from the 40K CCG.  The credits are at the beginning of the appendices, iirc.

Does anyone know of a Blood Axe fan list anywhere?  Cause I've been looking and cannot find any.  Sucks, cause we've been wanting to play with one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ib,

I can't remember any Bloodaxe lists at the official site.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I'm not really sure. I think I heard something.... Maybe it was just a few loose ideas about what such a list could contain ...Or it could be something I've imagined. :p

Anyway I suppose Blood axes should have access to a few Imperial vehicles -Maybe with some sort of a penalty with lower armour, worse at shooting or something. Stormboyz and Kommandoz would be a must!
Also they should probably have a different command structure a bit more organized or disciplined than regular orks. Maybe something to represent the fact that other orks won't obey Blood Axe Nobz... Dunno, just a few ideas. :;):

Cheers! :)

The only thing I can see on the SG site is the reference to the release in 2009.  Of  course that is all out the window now anyway.     I guess I am going to have to cobble one together.  Problem is, I am not an Ork player, and the guy who is has very limited knowledge of Epic:A.  So any suggestions would be good.  Also, some convincing arguments for me to explain to him why he can't have the exact same stats as the IG equivilant.  Which is how Epic40k did it.  *sigh*

I have an interest in the Blood Axes, and a reasonable Ork knowledge. Let me know if you want to bash a few ideas around. I would be interested in getting this together. There were a few thoughts on the Vault forums, generally about Kommando mobs, but nothing came of it. Shame.

Well, he has Leman russes , some rhinos, and some basilisks converted to orky use, so I would start with those.  Oh, and some Land Raiders, too.  So, would you fiddle with the weapon stats, or do something like strip the RA from the Russes and the LR's ?

I would probably drop all Ranged attack to-hit numbers by one and increase both CC and Firefight by one. They are _Orks_, after all, even if somewhat more disciplined. That discipline should IMO be taken into account in the formations.

Personally, I would either drop the ranged to-hit values, or the actual range of the weapons, and reduce the armour by one, and then increase the CC value by one.

Alternatively, I would treat them as if they were Battlewagons, or categorise them into areas such as 'captured transport' - and then allow the use of Rhinos, Chimeras, etc.

I have been looking at this a bit more. My suggestion is simply to use the stats as they are for Imperial vehicles, except swap the guns over for Big Shootas and other Ork weapons. This would not change the points value too much, and if you did this and 'rounded down' - for example taking the Heavy Bolter off the Chimera rather than upgrading it to a Heavy Shoota (if you upgraded the Heavy Bolter to a second Big Shoota, a Chimera becomes a Battlewagon) - the points values could remain largely unchanged. But, this would need to be done on an individual level, looking at each vehicle seperately, but I think that this would be good as it would stop vehicles which are too powerful from being looted.
