There is nothing that opposes it either.

The GW studio specifically shot down the link when  the Demiurg were created ; They're not Squats, no matter how convinient that would have been.

The squats died. All of them.

And that'd make a cool supplement... Last Stand of the Squats!

There's nothing more in-theme with the Squats' background than them standing and dying to the last man to protect and defend their ancestral homes.

Most probably, with grim vindiction, the last Squat detonated the homeworlds with warp bombs and took the culpable Hive Fleet with him.

Now that would make a good set of artworks to finish a supplement... the final picture in the book being a peaceful Warp Rift.

I don't care what GW says; Squats are NOT dead!

Of course not! The Demiurg Commerce Fleet and the colony strongholds continue to this day!

Just because the homeworlds were destroyed, what made anyone think they were still at home?

There's a difference. Inventing a few new units and a war is one thing, but suggesting a link between two entirely different races is something else.

My original thinking was to make them allies after the invasion, not the same race.  But given the fact that ePilgrim would most likely never change the background he wrote I see it as a moot point.

Besides, Tyranids have a lot of holes to fill in other ideas.  Moving on.

As far as I know there is no background linking the demiurg and squats. That would be a totally made up idea, and one that a lot of people don't agree with.

I'm a bit amused that 3 pages were spent on the Squat and Demiurg conundrum/concept ... Oh don't forget E/W's Khazari ! :) G/W won't support any book with the Squats in it ... and they won't support Demiurg for E:A  ?  Oh BTW, you guys know they made it all up ... it's Sci-fi ... not History ... :;):

NOW you say something! ?We could have conceivably printed a book longer than Armageddon.

Hey, I offered the Deathwatch... Necrons would have been ideal to pit them against...

Exactly. ?The Squats and the Ordos Xenos make their last stand. ?The Inquisition pull out, the mysterious 'Demiurg' alien race offer assistance to pull the Squat population off their homeworlds. ?Then as history goes on the Squats and Demiurg become interchangeable in the eyes of the galaxy. ?They fly the same FTL ships, both are short, both are rare. ?It would fit to how an ignorant galactic population would see them.

I'd be a little hesitant about putting deathwatch alongside squats. It doesn't feel right - not least because the squats were destroyed some time ago and the Ordo Xenos isn't necessarily that old - but also because the Inquisition isn't going to stand with a bunch of abhuman freaks anyway. Plus there are plenty of better plot hooks.

As said before, it is a brainstorming session.  Squats/Tyranids seemed like an entertaining idea on the surface but probably not viable now that I think about it.  Although one thing this tells me is a LOT of people like the Squats, perhaps a bit too much...

LI, I meant my comments as tongue in cheek.  I don't think I could have handled another army list in Raiders.   My wife was ready to shut the whole project down in December.  :O

Hopefully the Elysian and Tau lists will get playtested and hammered out because I really like that combo.

Do y'all think two army lists is too small? If so, how would people feel about two mini-supplements in one book?  In other words, you could put 4 lists under one cover, but they would only be related in pairs.

Two army lists would be okay by me. Just because Swordwind and Raiders have three, I don't think it's mandatory that all future supplements need to have three. "Related pairs" would be okay, too.

Two lists is fine. It works in Mossino.

I'm not keen on a Taros suppliment. That already exists, no?

'tis okay, we talked about it at the time...

Here are some suggestions then, in no particular order or indeed much thought...

Black Crusade
  • Black Legion
  • LATD
  • Ulthwe
  • Cadians

    Tau conflict
  • Tau
  • Elysians
  • Ordo Xenos
  • Kroot mercenaries (possibly as a mini-list add on?)

    Tyranids
  • Ordo Hereticus/Sisters
  • Genestealer cult (is anyone even working on one of these?)
  • Tyranids
  • Ultramarines (how are these different from Codex Marines?)

    Warp Rift
  • Red Corsairs
  • Daemonhunters
  • Daemons
  • Blood Pact

    Battle in the webway/maiden worlds?
  • Emperor's Children
  • Thousand Sons
  • Harlequins

Obviously I'm pondering the Inquisitorial lists...

Warp Rift...hmm ok they fit a common theme but i can't think of a reasion this 4 armies would be interlocked in one campaign.
Expecially Red Corsairs and Blood Pact. Aren't the Sabbat Worlds a bit to far away that they could met? The Red Corsairs tend to plague the space around the Maelstrom only. Red Corsairs aren't so keenon summoning large amounts of Daemons too which would be a must to justify a Daemon army.

To be perfectly honest, I think Squat and Demiurg are best avoided for suppliments, due to disagreement in the community with regards to background, and GW's desire to marginalise them.

You're forgetting the White Scars, and their little piece of tragedy. :)

White Scars and tragedy? What do you refer to?

Have a read of their appearance in Mossino... it's somewhat grim.
