In short, I'd like to change the Armoured Regiment list name from the Tallarn to the Minervan regiment for two main reasons:

1 - I think there's scope for a light-infantry based armylist themed around the Tallarns, and I don't want to hog the name in case someone decides to develop an armylist for them in the future.

2 - Minvervans are mentioned as a tank regiment in several pieces of GW fluff, as well as in the Epic rulebook itself.

So E&C, what can we tell the people about the Minervans? Uniforms, colors, etc. ???

There's a moderate ammount of info out there for the Minervans, and I'll work on getting some extra stuff done for the suppliment. :)

Well folks, we were hoping to have this competition wrapped up in two weeks, but we have only had 5 submissions so far.

We would like a minimum of twenty submissions to judge, so feel free to send in your artwork.  If you know of somebody personally or online, feel free to direct them to this competition.

I've added two new prizes to the grab bag:
One is a fully painted "Beatle Back" Titan done by Evil&Chaos.  The other is $25US in GW purchases if we get over 25 submissions sent in.

If need be, we'll extend the competition deadline, but we would prefer not to so we can begin working on the pdf layouts and such.

Thanks again and feel free to post if you have any questions.

Hotwire: ANY medium is acceptable.

Two Examples: Taking Necron mini's, photoshopping them and putting them into an original image I consider to be fine.  Taking a B&W sketch from a 40K Codex, flipping it around and making it white on black is NOT okay.

In other words, feel free to use wahtever tools are at your disposal.  In the grand scheme of things, this is all GW's IP.  So whatever you decide to Photoshop just make sure the end product is original looking.  I gave some ideas in the pdf (available at the top of this thread).

And I already posted at Warseer, but I am not sure how much attention it is getting.  Feel free to post there too so it gets as much attention as possible. :)

One question.
It really hurts me to say this but this supplement is called Epic: Raiders right?
Dark Eldar fit, Necrons fit but why is there an Armored Tank Regiment included???

A bunsh of amroured vehicle i really don't see fit for a raiders style warfare.
A Armoured Fist/Mechanised Regiment would be far better.
The Tank armylist was previously called Tallarn Armoured Regiment. I know because of the name Tallarn Desert RAIDERS it was included in this supplement but wouldn't be a Light Mobilised Infantry Regiment be more fitting? A true Tallarn Desert Raiders regiment?

I know this will delay the release of this supplement, but think about it :)

The Minervan Tank Legion would be better in a Tank supplement. Perhabs together with Kroksnik's Deth Traks as a Battle-/Gunfortress heavy variant armylist for Orks:

Well, I think you are right that -at this point- Raiders is not as fitting a title as when we came up with it.  When we decided on Raiders, the Tallarn Desert Raiders would have fit the bill perfectly.  Now that we've gone to the Minervans, well....

But I don't think this would slow the project down at all.  It is is - after all - only a name.  We didn't design the storyline, lists, and concept of the supplement around the title.  :;):

My thoughts are to either:
1. Leave it.  Raiders still applies to the Dark Eldar and to the Necron in some capacity.  And if you think of the title Swordwind, it only applies to the Eldar yet there were two other lists in that supplement.    For this particular storyline, the catalyst of everything that takes place is the Dark Eldar.

2. Change the title.  We had a bunch of ideas at the time that we shelved in favor of Raiders.  We can just go back to that list, dust it off, and see what would be more appropriate.

Anyone else think the title should be changed?

NOTICE:

Unless there is an objection, I will be extending competition deadline until July 31st.  I have had two requests to extend it for personal reasons (exams, etc). and quite frankly I'd like to give everyone an opportunity to get in as many submissions as possible.  With the way the artwork is coming in however, I probably won't extend it past July 31st.

I say stick with Raiders - two outta three isn't bad with the 'Crons and DEldar fitting the bill. If it's still desert warfare, then tank fomations can still make up very mobile assets.

I'd agree. The Necrons and the Dark Eldars are the Raiders. Furthermore, the rule book wouldn't be complete without rules for whoever it is they are raiding.  :D

I agree with sticking with Raiders. It didnt bother the Siegemasters or feral Orks that they were in a book called Swordwind!  :p
