I really don't care much for the new HW emplacements.

They're pretty "blah."

Tuffskull hinted about new Stormtroopers for us.

Tuffskull, can you tell us more?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Yeah I don't like the HW emplacment idea either. ?I hope the new range has HW figures without all those sandbags.

I personally think this is unlikely, as the 40K scale IG Heavy Weapons Teams are now on large bases (with scenery) and this is the reason why the Epic figs will be as they are!

I don't like them either and in the main due to the sandbags, if they were on their own base without sandbags then I think they would look a lot better.

Didn't Tuff mention something about him painting up some Stormtroopers? Unless it was something I dreamed up he sounded very positive about them. Guess there's something to look forward to :)
Stormtroopers, Vultures and Valkyries... oh yes  :cool:

Cheers

I'm happy that we're getting the new IG Air Cavalry stuff, but at the same time, I'm a little sad.

I guess all of my home-grown conversions and proxies will have to come from a different Forgeworld STC pattern.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Woah... Kinda missed this thread......try to catch up quick

Yup, I painted the Vanquisher and Armoured Basilisk (which IS what it is  :;): )  as well as the Warhound. I think thats all thats been shown of them so far.

I've been granted permission to post my own pics once my models have been seen on their site so I will upload some more angles ASAP & start a thread of previews.

Yes, Stormtroopers will be released and they are nice models.

Havent seen the HW emplacements but am not convinced on the pictures from the Fanatic site.

Someone said that the barrel looked unfinished on the basilisk. I actually put my foot in it when that resin arrived for painting - it turns out it wasnt a mis-cast... Ooops...  :blush:

I'm also being sent a second Warhound, and this time its mine to hack & paint as I please so we'll see what comes out of that in due course!  :D Me thinks it will be the titan support for my desert army (i.e. not a Steel Monoliths Titan for once!)

First, the links.
===========

Armocast provides a list of sources on their site from when they had the GW license:
http://www.armorcast.com/warhammer40k/PaintingTips.html

Pics from Armorcast’s studio are here:
http://www.armorcast.com/warhammer40k/painting/

Their text list from their Inquisitor pub with the info presumably consolidated from the sources in the first link:
http://www.armorcast.com/inquisitor/archive/number14/

=======

Scott Shupe's Eye of Terror page (now static) also has a link for heresy era titan banners that could help with logos and color schemes. ?I believe these are from the old Battle Titans boxed set.
http://home.earthlink.net/~sshupe/EPIC/banners.html

============

From Citadel Journals:
http://www2.vigyan.com/ilibrar....Legions

Burning Stars/Suns of Damnation (pre/post heresy names, Tzeentch, no color scheme stated, Princeps Skylok)
Silver Scythes/Festering Death (pre/post heresy, Nurgle, no colors, Princeps Bubonis)

===========

There is a knight house that fell to Slaanesh during the seige of Terra and which started the Slaanesh knight daemon engines, but there seems to be no additional detail. ?Sorry, no link.

===========

Also, feel free to post any links you guys think are relevant.

I'll post my list that consolidates all the sources I could find once I get it formatted for text.

I think we could also probably work on a list of home-grown titan legions once I get the official GW stuff up. ?I know I would be interested in what's out there.

CS: ?Would you be so kind as to pin this?  It also occurs to me that this might be better placed in the Background section.  I'll leave it to your capable moderator hands to decide whether to move it or not.

=========

*: Deathbolts have been called Thunderbolts.
Legio Honorum’s nickname listed as Deathbolts in Imperial Armor, but the legions have differing details.
Legio Ignatium– alternate spelling in official materials.
Legio Metalica – alternate spelling in official materials.
Legio Victorum’s forge world was listed as Triplex Phall in Imperial Armor, but previous sources list it as Galatia along with considerable detail
Ordo Reductor is an Order of the Adeptus Mechanicus which maintains siege dreadnoughts.  It has been labeled as Demi-Legio, but I believe that’s an error

============

Note that some of the Traitor Titan Legions share nicknames with the current loyalist Orders.  Possible explanations for this include:  legions which split during the Heresy, the new Imperial Orders are very tradition oriented and revived the names so as to be the “true” legion, traitor legions are known to have changed their names and may have duplicated loyalist names.

I have some additional info on one of the loyal legions from the list. (With a slight change in the name also)

Legion: Legio Pallidus Mors (Pale Death)
Emblem: A white skull under a red crescent moon. Both on purple background
Colors: Purple, red & white
Princeps: Grand Master Maximilian Ardashir, commanding from the Emperor Class Titan Praes Vindicta
Forge World: Tolkhan
Notes: Currently locked in battle with the Eldar Craftworld Riellen, for control of the Tolkhan Sub-Sector

Most of this fluff is in the old Epic magazine Firepower issue 3.

At least you are living upto your name with this quote!

Also welcome to the boards! Do you play epic or BFG or anything else?

Lastly, I never read Firepower 3, does it say anything else about this legion?

Cheers

Chris
