Totally agree Chroma and Zombo.

The E:A rules contain a number of subtlties and details which raise them above other rules IMHO, but which have served to cause some confusion over the years. "Range stretching" is one of these that I personally prefer because it goes some way towards removing the 'measuring to the millimetre' mentality that can plague other rules.

This and other discussions ensure a common understanding, helping to remove most in-game disputes thus speeding up play.

I think there aren't all that many theoretical discussions. Most of the time, questions arise during actual play. Sometimes in the course of discussing those real examples we unavoidably spin off into theory-land.

Personally, when that happens, I like to post an answer like "it's probably like this... but until someone shows it actually happens in game we aren't going to mess with nailing it down."
