I think your campaign system is a good one for a presential campaign, but i'm against it for use in a on-line campaign because of mainly two things:

1) The results of the campaign are mostly influded by the original positions of every race, e.g. if the Empire were to start with half the worlds in the map, it's almost certain that they would end up winning the campaign

2) (And mostly important) There should be an "Strategic Command", which is something we discussed and dropped earlier in this discusion, as some people could feel bad about other people's taking decisions for them.

BUT remember that :

1) This are only my opinions. If the other people think that yours is the best system for a campaign, it's fine for me

2) Anyway, thank you for posting your ideas. As you can see, y myself haven't posted any campaign system, but only a proposition

Ya, the "Strategic Command" thing is a problem with the system, but I can't think of a better way to do it. A prescripted campaign isn't all that fun unless you construct a massive mission tree for it, which is more trouble than it's probably worth.

Still, these ideas here (and any other ideas I throw out) aren't meant to be presented as "This is how it should work" but "Here's how it could work, or at least we can grab some mechanics from it and throw it into the final version"

I think there's one we race that needs to be discussed(or at least swiftly dealt with): the Demiurg.

Do they work in other Empires or Raiders fleets in this Campaign, or will the be entirely restricted to the Tau?

(and I'm perfectly happy with both the Demiurg and the Squats being in the campaign, just as long as it's clear they're not the same)

Otherwise, this idea looks like a damn good one!

Regarding decision making:
If you really plan on making a map-based campaign then assign one person the commander role for each conflict side.

The commander decides on what to attack, possibly splitting forces and the players may allocate their forces by fighting the accompanying scenario.

About Demiurgs, maybe they should only be allowed as part of the Tau Empire, if only to limit the number of Empires out here... or maybe we should open a poll to know what people think about (we all love democracy, don't we?).

And about the  campaign system, as there are only ?3? persons who have submitted a system of their own invention, i propose that they (yes, you 3!) talk between themselves and make a system which could be a combination of the best parts of each proposal. I say this because if we just sit down to endlessly talk about which campaign system would be best, which campaign system part is good and the like we will NEVER start this campaign :(

If not... maybe we could  make another poll about which one of the campaign systems exposed here is to be used in the campaign :D
