I have a Tau and Kroot force of about 6000 pts. They are fun to play if, and if you have played modern MBT games you will get the feel of them quickly. They do the 'fire and manouver' tactics very well. No doubt why L4 has a force of them. The list is a little limiting at the moment, and don't reliy on macro weapons! I've only done 6 games with them but willing to help. Cheers.

You got that right P/B ! Unfortunately all my Tau & Kroot are still in the bags ! I got too much other Epic to do first ! And I'm kind of awaiting the S/G release, years from now ... by then most of my Epic should be complete ...

6000 pts is a decent size, what does that comprise of? I assume you have fliers and anti aircraft with that?
What do u use for close combat situations?

Been of for bit. Just getting ready to go to Nottingham castle for a bash (well they are I still a cripple but I do get to drink and meet nice girls). The Tau force is scattered and not all painted so I shall just list the painted stuff. 2 Full cadre 5 hammerhead units 2 skyray units 3 orcas 1 broadside unit 3 Krootwarbands(inc all upgrades) 2 Tigersharks 1 Barracuda wing 3 Tower turret units(cost?) 3 Drone units(heavy and normal) 2 Human aux inf companies 1 Human aux Lt Armour Co Mixed snipers, stealth suits, etherials and officers. Other units are in the pipeline along with buildings and terrain. I can't wait for knarlocks and riders or the tetra and piranha!
Cheers.

I like the list you have there. I have many unpainted units and hopefully I will be able to share some more pics of what has been painted. I certainly dont have enough infantry for 3 cadres but thats because they are unpainted. Luckily kroot doesnt require 8 stands of a particular unit so I might be able to use them next week against tom.
What colours did you use on them?

Most of the colour is desert tan. The pathfinders are in mixed sub-desert/scrub pattern. The snipers are also in a scrub DPM. One cadre is on scrub basing and the other is on a more tropical style. I am still tempted to do a cadre in one of each of the following, jungle ,artic scrub, urban and ice blue. However the work situation has put a total hold on the expansion for the greater good.Unless anything new comes out that is As for a previous question, I use the Kroot for close quaters as those fine lads have not failed me yet. I have not tried the human aux yet but I'm sure they will be proud and stout. We are toying with the idea of a markerlighted arty' style unit as well at the moment. Also the Kroot are getting a shake up as well. Cheers.
