With so many questions about the models and lists and storyline I decided to put together a pdf with all sorts of pictures and other information in an organized form.

Cheers for that Moscovian - sure helps a lot!  :D

Cancelled until further notice. I will elaborate later but for now please accept my apologies for any time wasted and expectations that I raised.

EDIT: We're back on.  Communication lines got crossed, but we're good.

Not that I had anything entered, but I'm sorry to hear it.

See above.  Just some misunderstandings - everything is good.

So still good to go ya?

Incidentally, is it ok to post the pics up as and when I finish them? Also, where should I post them? Is it ok to put the up on forums like Warseer and Illuminatus for other peeps to see?

Everything is fine - no worries.  It is too silly to elaborate on.

The entries should be emailed to me directly.  Please hold off on posting them anywhere for now.  We'll be posting them all at the same time after the deadline has passed.

Keep up the good work.

I'd quite like to do some fiction, probably in the form of a short story(possibly plural).

Is that something you guys might be interested in?

Moosecloud, I think there is room for it, although Corey and E&C are taking on the bulk of the fictional background.  Once they are done, I would love to see boxed out fiction throughout the pdf (much like you find in the Codices).  These would be little bits of stories or dialogue or what-have-you that would carry the feel of the conflict, the army lists, and/or the fluff that has been written.
So I'd say yes, I'd love your help (and everyone else that offered).  The trick is waiting for the fiction to get completed.  Once it has, we'll probably share it with a larger group (Hena, Moosecloud, Blackhorizon, whoever else wants to throw their hat into the ring) and have you guys put some some pieces together.  Whatever we can fit, we'll throw into the publication.

As for the artwork, y'all don't HAVE to participate in the competition to help.  There are plenty of places we can put a lone Tallarn warrior or a severed head on a Dark Eldar sabre or a Necron arm shoved into the sand.  Those little sketches would be much appreciated and would be the icing on the cake.

Thanks again to everyone who is participating and offering their assistance.  Keep in mind the deadline for the competition is one month away!!!  Spread the word to people at your local gaming shops who wouldn't necessarily be Epic players.  Many 40K players are artists.

Some other questions keep coming to me, "If you tell me what you want I'll draw it, so what do you want?"

Well, I've made some mention above, but I think people are getting the impression that everything HAS to be  abig battle picture.  While I like big battle pictures (who doesn't?) I'll give you some ideas that would capture the feel of the supplement IMO:

* A close-up shot of a tank tread with a Necron fist coming out of the sand.
* A DE Ravager with a Tallarn body strapped to the front of it (throw an Aeonic Orb looming in the background if you feel like it).
*A Warbarque portal with Necron Warriors coming out of it amid some destroyed Lemun Russ tanks / dead IG bodies / Dark Eldar bodies / etc.
*A figure that has a Dark Eldar head, Necron arm and leg, and a Tallarn uniform (artsy-fartsy perhaps, but somebody out there might be able to pull it off).
*A Kashnarak beast ripping into a Salamander Scout vehicle.
*A Baneblade running over and crushing a Necron Tomb Spyder.
*A Dark Eldar Executor being swarmed by Imperial fighters, or offloading cargo, or crashing into the sand.
*Chimeras offloading a cautious group of soldiers in the middle of a street (strewn with decapitated bodies if you prefer).
*Dark Eldar ships in orbit, possibly fighting off a Scythe Class Harvester, or Imperial Cruiser, or simply launching Executors and Slavebringers to the surface.
*A damaged Necron Monolith surrounded by Stormtroopers.

These are just a few ideas off the top of my head and in no way should it be considered a must-do list.  Enjoy, have fun, spread the word.

I noticed a couple of links to art submissions posted on other boards.  While I mentioned that we wanted to keep the submissions private until later, this isn't a big deal.  Obviously, I'd prefer a grand unveiling, but if you folks are chomping at the bit to get feedback from other people, go right ahead :) .  Just bear in mind where you are posting it (make sure you aren't giving somebody else exclusive rights to your pics).

Remember, make as many submissions as you wish - you are not limited to one.

UPDATE: We are making a (hopefully the last) change to our supplement plans:

The Armoured Regiment is going to be renamed from the Tallarn Armored Regiment to the Minervan Armored Regiment.

Why?  I really don't know - ask Evil & Chaos why he is evil and chaotic.

What this means for the art competition is this: we will be accepting any artwork that includes Minervans or Tallarns.  In fact, we'll probably leave the Tallarns in the fiction in some capacity (light infantry), but the list will be Minervan.

I'll leave it to E&C to explain the changes and give some guidance on what a Minervan pattern might look like.

On the good side, E&C is painting up a titan as another prize for the competition - details to follow.

For those who are interested, (which is probably only Moscovian and E+C!) but I've got a Word file with all the official GW fluff for the Minervan Tank Legions. You can download it here:  http://tinyurl.com/2qhmdq

Reaver
