He's the "Supreme Commander" of the Wombles from the 1970's kids TV show. They live on Wimbledon Common and recycle rubbish.

Mk 6 all the way. I remember when I first saw the Mk 7 helmet and thought:"pig".

Really, for some reason I thought "storm trooper" when I saw the MK7.

The mark 6 I thought was just original until it was pointed out that it is supposed to look like a knights helm. Then I thought, "cool."

It seems all the best helmets in sci-fi take a bite from a knights helm. Well at least in Star wars. Boba Fett is a total knight and has the best helm. Well, next to Vader, a Skull face in a Nazi helmet. Now that is epic!

anyway, way off topic. Lol!

I though the wombles looked like a cuhchunda - a kind of mole rat they have here digging up the lawn.

UK - Gardener sees mole drowning, gardener kills mole just to be sure.

India - Gardener sees cuhchunda, gets all the other gardener, embark on a 30 minute crusade to save it from drowning.

Why? I thought that Indians only care about sacred cows, well the hindus at any rate. Are they known as animal lovers in the UK?

No idea, all the Sub continental types I meet in the UK are Punjabi's, Kashmiri's, bengalis and Gujaratis. Of that lot only the Gujaratis are normally vegetarian (and often anti onion) and of the rest the majority are Muslim who normally have no qualms about gobbling meat.

But over here the majority are veggie and anti killing. To silly extents in my eyes, the funnyist recently for me was a proposal to kill off some of the 10's (or was it 100) of thousands of stray dogs in Indian controled Kashmir's capital which was simply impossible to get pass all the public opposition and many people here are scared of Dogs :) Especially ones with Rabies like a lot of those mutts had!

Its a bit odd comparing the two countries, animal cruelty isn't as stridently talked against like in the UK, but animal killing is.

That's pretty neat. I lived in Moscow for a while in the late 90's and early this millenium and there were packs of ownerless dogs on the streets that just banded together. They would sleep in the metro at night for warmth. But in Moscow they were hunted and killed by city employees. No squeamishness over there!
Those dogs could be dangerous. In the mid 90's, at the hieght of the criminal Yeltsin years, dogs attacked and killed a small girl in a park, right in Moscow! Shows to what level the coutry sank.

I understand not abusing animals, but I don't understand the zealotry of many animal rights activists. Here in Toronto we have a racoon problem in the city, they are very cute but can be vicious and many have rabies and diseases (they eat garbage). If I were to shoot one I'd be fined up to $5000 Canadain! (that's like 5 english pounds,   ). Makes no sense. A family of them lives over at my neighbours. I sleep with the window open and a young racoon was sniffing around the sill thinking about coming in. I threw my tissue box at him and he decided not to. Good thing I woke up!

And to tie this into the thread, I think that a racoon's head looks like a Mk6 Space Marine Helmet! Might be an interesting paint scheme. What would the chapter be called, "The Space Coons?"
