Will you use the dumbed down weapon stats of the E:A rulebook or use more original ones?

Not sure what you mean by "dumbed down".

I think categorising the Ork weapons into various abstract categories was a good thing.

As well will you use existing unit stats (Battle-/Gunwagon, etc) or will you invent them new based on their Wh40k stats and abilities?

I am thinking of possibly having a difference between a "Trukk" class vehicle and a "Battlewagon" class vehicle.

Well for example Orks Big Gunz are actually 3 different guns: Kannon (basically a Missile Launcher), Lobba (a Mortar with Indirect Fire)and Zzapp Gun (Lascannon or even MW shot). The rulebook dumbed them down to AP5+/AT5+.
At least they should ahev differntated between a direct shooting weapon and one with Indirect Fire (the Feral Orks got this in form of the Squig Catapult).

I'd say that the rulebook rationalised them to having an averaged-out statline, as otherwise there would be far too many stats.

It's the same as how all Steel Legion Fire Support units have 2x Autocannons...

And Devastators have Missile Launchers.

Not really; those are the 40k weapons that count as big guns in epic, but those 40k weapons are themselves abstracted catagories.

Theoretically, every single ork weapon is unique, kitted together from bits of other weapons, scrap metal etc. Obviously you can't represent this at any level except perhaps Inquisitor, so some level of abstraction is required. 40k abstracts them into catagories, epic just does the same thing at a higher level.

Hmm ok. Something else.
Will the list include Mega Dreads? Will they be different from a Stompa with one less gun?
I was thinking about Stompa stats but with two Big Shootas (30cm AP6+ each no AT*)one 15cm AP4+/AT5+ weapon (the Killkannon) and one CC-weapon (+1EAMW)together with Infiltrators (representing the Mega-charga). Options could be Twin-Killkannon (15cm AP3+/AT4+) or two CC-weapons (+2EAMW).

*again some difficulties here: The Missila Launcher represents welthe mix of heavy weapon Space Marines may use but the Orks don't have an equivalent (only the Kannon but this is a stationary gun operated by Grotz). They have the Big Shoota which is the Ork's Heavy Bolter (AP only) and the Rokkit Launcha which is the Ork's Lascannon (AT only). But giving a sinlge unit of Ork Boys two shots (one AP6+ and one AT6+) might be to much... well...dakka.

Yes. But in exchange it would lose the stompa from the Armageddon list.

Weapons should probably be more generic than the ones you propose, to whit the "Killkannon" (Rough translation of stats 15cm AP4+/AT5+ I agree) should probably become a standard Epic "Big Gun" (30cm, AP5+/AT5+). It's close enough that it loses a pip of AP and gains 15cm in range and is still relatable as a big gun on a Mega Dread's arm.

Customisation options would probably be:
2x Big Gun
1x Big Gun & 1x CCW
2x CCW

Also, it could have the option to take an Oddboy (Zzapgun type only, not the Soopagun), which would represent how in 40k you can have a "Mekadread" Oddboy-type HQ Mega Dread with a very large "Zappa" type weapon on the arm.

That the list would loose the rulebook Stompa (which really is a "Rolla" or "Trakka")was expected :)

No Big Shootas? The standard armament for the Mega Dread is 1 Killkannon, 1 Rippa Klaw and 2 Big Shootas.

With replacing the Killkannon with the longer ranged "blurred" Big Gun the Mega Dread shouldn't have Infiltrators (the Mega-charga is only an upgrade anyway).

BTW: Open a thread of it's own for Gobgutz Badfang's Waaagh! army list?

Yar, I probably should post up the speculative list I've written.

I figure you probably mean BP weapons but just to be sure, no ork weapons have indirect fire.

*looks it up* Erhm... :-[
That'll teach me to check before posting :D

Ok in Epic no Ork weapon shoots indirect. Even the ones with BPs. While in Wh40k there are three sizes of weapons which are able to shoot indirect (Lobba, Big-Lobba and Supa-Lobba. Not to forget the Grot Bomm).

It's not lack of know-how that stops people writing supplements, it's lack of time, or more likely, motivation.

*Raise's Hand*

Umm I think I fall into the category of lack of know-how not motivation. =) I most likely would have made some armylists if I knew how to make them all fancy like you fine folks. Just saying...

Also if E&C thinks we can pull it off then why not? I would really like to see the Eldar Titans to make the cut though.

And I didn't really hear any feelings on the Imperial Crusade list. I figured it could fill the 'standard IG' feel of the story arc without using the Steel Legion list. It also allows SM without the need for a variant list. Plus its kinda fun looking.

I'd lean away from it. The Attilans and the Skitarii between them seem to cover the IG niche fairly firmly, IMO.

I'd look towards putting the Imperial Crusade up against a different target, perhaps Tau?

They could also work in the Maelstrom supplement (with some clever writing, anyway).
